Yea I didn't get that either, maybe it has to do that steph had a good preseason and seemed to have found a role with the team. Dude must be really pissed after the game.

I think if Marbury was waived and signed for the vet minimum by another team it would save the Knicks 2 million, 1 million in salary and 1 million in cap fines. Considering the cost cutting moves made so far, trading Balkman, and not signing Ew jr. this seems to be around or just a little higher than what Walsh wants to save when he makes personnel decisions.

Yeah, but how do you know if Dolan wants to trade Marbury. Remember Marbury is on Dolan's **** list too for what he pulled last season. Forcing him to accept a buyout or further hurt his ego.

Do you think that there is any chance that there was a "wink wink...nudge, nudge" given to Ewing Jr...seems strange that he hasn't made any move yet...perhaps we are seeing the plan unfold...imagine release Marbury and resign Ewing....that would be a good day!!!!

Benching Marbury like that makes no sense. If you are going to do that then release him.

I am no fan of Marbury, but during that drought we had at the end we could have used a player that can penetrate and draw fouls. He and Robinson are the only ones who can do that and Marbury is far better at it.

In the fourth quarter Duhon couldn't get past the 3 point line and Crawford seemed to be allergic to lane paint.

This is the result of someone's personal grudge, or something must have happened behind closed doors that we are not aware of because:

1) Marbury shows up in great shape.
2) After he is informed he will be benched in a way that was determined before players earned their spots, he dealt with it decently in public.
3) He plays very well during the preseason and seemed to show good camaraderie with Duhon even after he lost his spot to him.
4) We can use his skill set.

I would hope that grudges are not put above the team winning. It is very clear to me that Marbury is a far superior player to Duhon. Keeping Marbury on the bench like that will foster a toxic atmosphere -- again. It was no mistake that Miami came back, and vs. a better team we'll probably pay for this kind of stuff.

Just make him inactive. Let's see Roberson play. We didn't cut Ewing so Roberson could wear a suit all season.

Typical from Berman. I really hope Marbury betrays him and punches him or some **** so then Berman could start writing about how much of a "bad guy" Marbury is. Clearly all he is doing is licking his @sshole because they are buddy-buddy.

Thing is, nobody cares about Marbury. And the people who chanted tonight should have been ****ed up by someone there. I either would have told them to STFU or started a brawl and gotten thrown out. Don't bring that blasphemy into the Garden.

BTW, nice job at that fat fool Berman questioning D'Antoni's integrity. Yeah, and where is yours fatso? Every article is ****ing predictable from this douchebag. It's no wonder he writes for a 25 cent paper. If the Post ever went bankrupt, he'd be another Marbury homer on an internet forum crying about his lack of respect from the Knicks. Fuck you Berman and **** your crackhead friend.

i figured u'd be in a good mood after Marbs' DNP tonite... who cares what Berman writes anyways? let the man polish Steph's marbles if he wants to... some fans may feel that Marbs was ill treated tonite but i didn't hear anyone rushing to his defense when he quit on his team & his teammates last year... screw Marbs & Berman... we got a W & Marbs will be squawking about his lack of a role on this team any day now, it's just a matter of time.

Well, Im on the minority here who thinks it was stupid to do this thing this way. Though I cant nor wont forget nor forgive what he has done in the past years, you can not do this just because "he is not the future", especially when there has been no complains nor soap-operas about him this summer. It is just unnecesary. You either release him in August to not make him a distraction or you play him because, as much as you dont like me saying this, it is a joke that Duhon, Nate or whoever PG we have, plays ahead him. But jokes only happen at MSG lately. We have won more games with Marbury than without him, its just a fact, as much as we all like to say he is a cancer, etc. We ARE better with Marbury, and to make this look even worse to me, Duhon is NOT the future of a good Knicks team. He is just an overpaid PG signed to play a couple of years (and he will be 29 by the end of his contract). So we did fine, we send a message that Marbury is still useful in preseason and that he even can accept playing as a backup PG, then we release him, and in the end he will score a bunch of points on us playing for other team, while we play the mighty Duhon, Collins and Nate (among the best PG's in the league the 3 of them) because we are building a "glorious" future. Meh, I dont buy that, Im sorry.

Despite my words make you think Im angry, Im not. Its not a big deal, just a stupid move IMO, just as the Ewing's one. I understand we celebrate Marbury no longer playing for us, but this way is just.... damn only Isiah could have done worse than this I have to say.

It made no sense and the whole point of the Eddy Curry (did he tell him or not) debate goes out the window. All those who wasted so much energy trying to prove he did look more than foolish. The man should have been cut before training camp. Other teams cut their players. Now you only guarantee that he will not accept any buyout. Steph should take a page from Harrington. Just start going off on D'Antoni you get to collect your money apparently you feel better. Just ask Al.
