If we don't get Lebron, what's the 2nd best option?
Sign Dwyane Wade

Sign Dirk Nowitzki
Sign Yao Ming
Sign Carmelo Anthony

We will have NONE of these players. They will either re-sign or be signed&traded.

Thanks for taking out your crystal ball

Bosh likes TOR so he's going no where. Dirk is a Mav for life. Ming will play where "Team Yao" tells him(most likely staying in Houston). And if Wade leaves Miami, Pat Riley will definately trade him before he walks for nothing.

I think 2010 is a red herring. Cutting costs and getting to a manageable cap number within the next 2-3 yrs is the underlying goal. That will give us the flexibility we need regardless of what players we acquire.

2010 FA's are basically window dressing for the impatient fan base. If we can get one, amazing, but we'd be making significant progress just being in a position to get there.

Bosh. Big man, won the olympics, and plays on both ends. Wade is WAY too injury prone for my taste. If we can't get under the cap for that season, then you got the Summer after that with Dwight Howard (I believe) coming out.

So since New York is the mecca of basketball how many big time free agents have came here?

Dirk: Yes
Yao: Maybe, lets see how his health holds up.
Bosh: He'll still be awesome, unless he gets injury prone.
Wade: We'll see how his health treats him, but I'll say he'll still be awesome.

Is LeBron gonna suck too?

Come on, you know that we haven't had any cap space and have only been able to offer 30 mil MLE deals. You do the other side of the argument a disservice when you ignore info. that you're aware of (as I'm sure you are).

Uh, when were we ever in a position to get them? 12 years ago? 12 years ago we signed Houston and Childs with cap space. Those guys were pretty good if you ask me.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

And there will likely be a couple of very good players now who take their games to the next level by then.

I don't think Dirk will suck in 2 years but he'll probably be too old to give a max contract to.

And there was a lot of talk about Reggie coming here but we made the decision (probably the wrong one) to divide the cap money on two good players instead of one intersted hall-of-famer.

Didn't Reggie say, that Summer, that there was no way he was coming to NY?

Of course, but those guys will be restricted free agents, most likely. I say make BOTH 2010 AND 2011 the goal.

Not sure. I didn't think he said that but my memory may be off. It was a long time ago.

Chris Childs and Allen Houston and they came to a winning team. What is the sell come play on a 25 win team that doesnt have a lot of pieces to become much better. We have Peter Lugar's, Scores, and Yankees. I think these guys want to win and the Knicks wont be in a position to do so.

if riley were to trade wade the fans would chew his head off. that's not a guy you trade, you give him whatever he wants. if he wants to sleep in your guestroom, so be it.

how do you know bosh wants to stay in tor? money AND endorsements talk. in ny he can have both. he can be the type of player to us over the hump at that point. <---(at that point) just in case anyone is wondering what hump i speak of.

yao does'nt fit.

dirk = chandler and gallinari.

We'll be a 25 win team in 2 to 3 years. You must have no faith in Walsh. If Walsh does his job, we should be significantly better than that.

Seriously, regarding whether a player likes a city, at best all you know what a guy tells his hometown papers

i'm surprised u didn't include a Wait for 2025 option for all those who think cap flexibility is overrated.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.
2nd best option for 2010?
