We already know who wants who to stay on this team, but in reality, what do you think Walsh will do? What are your own thoughts on the move either way. Personally, I have warmed to signing Jr. and now that I see it a little clearer, to lose 800 thousand goes against losing anymore money, but in the long run, I don't see it hurting Walsh's long term plan. Also who do you really think is pulling the strings on this one? Dolan or Walsh? That's the mystery and maybe we'll find out after today. LOL to all of us.
Be fiscal responsible, stick to his guns and keep Roberson, or..........
Screw the money, take Jr.

I rather keep Ewing. Roberson hasn't done anything. He is behind Collins on the depth chart who has shown much more than Roberson. If Roberson is kept it is just to please D'Antoni.
I don't like to play bad rookies , I like to play good rookies - Mike D'Antoni

Maybe we can get Roberson to fill in for Cury at center.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

This article is more talk about the 15th spot on the roster, and unfortunately our former GM is being is old drama queen self again trying to dominate the Knicks news just before the season starts. This team needs to cut all ties with Thomas and move on, he's a distraction that needs to be gone. The only thing that should be left behind of his is the guys he drafted Lee, Nate and Chandler, that's all.

I'd prefer it if Dolan ate several other things that had him choke to death.

Have you seen Little Jimmy lately? I don't think eating is something he has much trouble with.

Don't cut Jr.

If this really is just between Ewing and Roberson than this decision is tough. But I would say take Ewing because at that SF spot we have Q who is garbage, Chandler who seems to be prone to knee injury and Gallinari who seems to be prone to back injury.

We have a lot of point guards and they dont get injured that often, but besides that both of them have upsides that would be good for the Knicks to hold on to. Hopefully one of our scrubs can be bought out so we can keep both of these guys.

Seems like Ewing will be the one who will be cut from this article.

I want us to be serious for a moment. The only reason we would be angry that he was cut is because of his last name. While he did play well in his limited time in the final preseason game, he didn't really do anything in preseason to warrant him worthy of keeping. Still, I like the guy personally. I like his work ethic and his potential and I definitely would keep him over Jerome James. The fact that Walsh (or Dolan) is going to be cheap over this after years of paying people for no reason would get me pretty disappointed.

No- if they cut Ewing, I am angry that a player with less potential upside (Roberson) was kept over him, that they compound one mistake (signing roberson to some crazy deal off of summer league practice) with another (cutting Ewing).

I haven't even noticed Roberson during any of the games- but Ewing has stuck out as one of those Balkman type players- guys that make an impact, energize a team and contribute to winning.

Roberson does what exactly? Allow D'Antoni to field 4 players under 6'2"?

How about this 2 for 1 deal so we can keep Ewing Jr. and Roberson?

Curry + James for Big Ben

Would the Cavs do it?

With Wallace on the decline, Curry at least has more upside, and he will get minutes with Big Z also on the decline, and with James attracting attention/passing ability, Eddy would get a lot of shots close to the hoop where he is most effective.

With Wallace, we then get a guy who can play center and provide some interior D, in the meantime.

OK, so my sister couldn't care less about the Knicks. But I just told her that today is a big day because we find out if Patrick Ewing Jr. made the team, expecting her to be like STFU. But now, she was like REALLLLLLLLLY?!?!?! PATRICK EWING'S SON?!?!?!

If this kid can get my sister excited about the Knicks, he *has* to make the team.

Patrick Jr. cut

Patrick Ewing Jr.'s name didn't help him, nor the two-dunk, 3-for-3 performance he produced Friday night at the Garden that got fans chanting his name like his father was on the floor again.

Instead, he was the Knicks' final roster cut Monday as team president Donnie Walsh and coach Mike D'Antoni decided to keep the player who impressed them with his shooting prowess during he off-season, Anthony Roberson, and not eat the $12.8 million still owed Jerome James.

As this is written, Walsh hasn't addressed his decision, but did say beforehand of Junior, "He's improved. He just keeps getting better."

Junior, meanwhile, said of the possibility of not fulfilling what he said was a "dream" since his days running around the Knicks' old Purchase College practice floor when his father played, "I'll just go on with my life and take the next step. I'm not one to sit around and think about things. I just get on with the next step."

Even though teams were cutting down to the final rosters by Monday's 6 p.m. deadline, several were cutting below the 15-man maximum, so there may be a spot on another team.

Just not the one that put his father's No. 33 up in the Garden rafters.

Oh well the kid is gone, I don't like it, I wish the team had more time to make a move so they could keep Jr., that sucks!

we basically threw Balkman away & cut Ewing Jr., 2 SF's who could at the very least get the Garden crowd up on its feet & into the games w/their athleticism & hustle, just so we can have a completely insignificant 5th PG on the roster that has no role other than to fill a roster spot that didn't even need to be filled to begin with???... has anything changed w/the new GM or is he the same clueless fool as the one he replaced?
