The Police gave a typical non descript account with mere facts 47 yo black male. Its the type of thing appearing on police blotters all over the country. Isiah just being Isiah. Probably comes from his veryclose relationship with Manny

With that said, we don't even truely know the facts, but it looks like Isiah is lying, b/c the police just don't lie about stuff like this. This statement seems kind of obnoxious, yet unprofessional though:
“I understand that this person claims it was his daughter; he is lying,” Hall said. “It was definitely not his daughter, it was a male. We know the difference between a 47-year-old black male and a young black female.”

I think the guy is probably irritated that they are questioning his reputation by implying that he is lying. He is a police chief. I'm sure he doesn't take kindly to that although he is being an ass about it.

Sounds similar to the T.O. incident a couple years back - and I dont think T.O. was trying to kill himself - it is suspicious.

"It wasn't his daughter," Harrison Police Chief David Hall told The Associated Press. "And why they're throwing her under the bus is beyond my ability to understand."
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Seriously though...Do you guys REALLY care about this?

Some of you posters here, and in other sites, sound really upset about this. Like the world is about to end type shiit.

So he overdoes on sleeping pills...or he didn't

blamed his daughter...or not.

who cares? Calling him names and wishing ill will on the man is childish and pathetic.

No it's pretty bad to blame your own children for something you did--it's as bad as it gets. To stick them out and put them in the spotlight to cover and lie for you--that's pretty frikin bad.
And God forbid it was his daughter who took pills--which it seems very unlikely given what the police said--why the heck would you ever tell anyone anything about it? People who have lived a star live get press coverage--that is the bottom line. I certainly wish no ill will towards anyone but I don't like to hear a father bring his children in to blame them for his mess. To me that is a loser star or joe.

A police chief likened the conflicting accounts of an accidental overdose at Isiah Thomas' home to a "cover-up".

Thomas said on Saturday that it was his teenage daughter that need medical treatment early Friday.

"It wasn't his daughter," Harrison Police Chief David Hall said. "And why they're throwing her under the bus is beyond my ability to understand."

Authorities were called to Thomas' Westchester County home, where police said a 47-year-old man was taken and treated for an overdose of sleeping pills.

Several media outlets reported that police confirmed it was Thomas, 47, who went to the hospital.

Reached on his cell phone Friday, Thomas told the New York Post he had not been treated for a sleeping pill overdose, and that it was his daughter.

It "wasn't an overdose," he told the newspaper. "My daughter is very down right now. None of us are OK."

As much as I've grown disappointed with this board over the confusion with dissing Isiah's professional record with his personal life, I cant say that I disagree with Briggs whatsoever. Even if Zeke is telling the truth, which I almost completely doubt, he could have simply stated that it was a family issue, and not name his daughter specifically.

This whole story is just classic Zeke. He's really done such a disservice to his Hall of fame career.

have you considered the possibility that his character issues follow him from one domain to the other, such that the two are not as distinct and separate as we may like?

I understand what you're saying, and this incident supports the idea that Zeke's moral compass is almost completely askew, but what I was referring to was more or less projecting Isiah's GM blunders onto his character and person.

I can hate him as a GM, but not as a man. That said, Zeke has been flucking up lately. Real talk.
