You save 2 million a year that is being fiscally responsible that is a savings of ten million over the term of a contract. Next year everyone will gripe when someone offers Lee 11 million which is market for a top 5 rebounder and someone that score 15 a game. If you signed him now you probably could have got it done for around 9 million a year. You go into the draft next summer almost having to take a big man because you wont have Lee tied up. If he leaves then you have Zach and Curry and Chandler on the inside.
