In talent level or style of play? I just think we should clarify. No particular reason

He needs to work on getting a little stronger and grasping how basketball in the NBA is played (which will come) but the whole package looks to be there.

One key indicator might be looking at his innate sense of balance. Lots of players/people have excellent north-south speed, but don't have the body control to stop on a dime, change directions, or maintain control when there's contact.

He will go down as Gallo..., and others will be compared to him.
He has the potential anyway.

Let's see him on D. Outside of health, only real concern. But feel he will be a great team defender with that intelligence of his. For his size he isn't exactly slow but clearly lacks great athleticism. But he seems to play real hard.

Hardnose highly skilled and intelligent player. With his lack of great athleticism I still I don't see him having any problems getting his shot off. With that dribble, mind and moves for his size. Oh, when was the last Hardnosed Knick, even on only offense? He gets to the foul line and hits them.

As others have noticed, incredible handle for his size.

Offensively and with his intelligence (and HEART), I seriously think he is absolutely going to shock people.

Please put his play in Europe into perspective. At 19 he was the go to guy in a good leauge (of men),... at 19. Think about that. Those few minutes of summer league play were not a fluke.

Have not seen this kind of rookie talent on this team in a loooooong time, AND AT 19...

Will be fun to see what happens. I'm really excited to see Chandler develop as well. And as great as Chandler appears to be capable of, I still feel Gallo got something special that few players have and might be really special (and in this offense and with D'Antoni as coach, oh boy)

for some reason, once i saw this team play the way it is playing in pre-season, i saw how Gallo would fit. Can you imagine how much better they'll look with him starting over QRich? i think he can be very good.

Imagine Gallo shooting all those wide open threes that Q has been shooting/bricking all preseason. We would be winning these games by thirty points

One thing I just noticed is the guy Galinari broke with the dribble caught up to him and stuffed him clean while Traylor mauled him. Still a nice move though.

Stuffed him clean? wow, I didn't see that, but hey, I guess it is easy to catch up withsomeone who runs into a brick wall..

zybx - imagine, "Duhon ahead to Gallo at the arc, who stops and whips a pass in the corner to Chandler who dribbles towards the foul line and spots Gallo, coming off the pick by Lee at the the top of the key... YES!..."

Just look at the second clip...it's in the thread. He was getting stuffed before Trayor leveled him.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Gallo is way by his man. Without Taylor giving him a flagrant foul, Gallo would have laid the ball in. Great move.

Yes, Gallo got way by him but he slowed down and the guy caught up to him, Gallo pulled the ball over and behind his head as he approached the rim and the other guy got on top of it with his hand. Check it out again, slow like.

You are right - he did slow down - due to Taylor's flagrant. I think he would have made the basket w/o Taylor. However, the original move was great.

Also interesting that Gallo is the one bringing the ball upcourt. He is supposed to be playing the 3 or 4 , yet is accomplished enough to also play the point - at least in this sequence.

If you watch video of him the thing that you tend to forget most is that he's 6-10 and doing all this. There are so few guys who can move like that at that size. Just look at how often it's a guard or SF who is guarding him and they can't stop him from getting off. When you're that tall and skilled you will always have an offensive advantage. IF they try to guard you with a smaller quicker guy, he'll just shoot over them or post them. If they go big he'll just go around them or fake them out.

His handle and shooting is what makes him so tough. That combination of skills has made Paul Pierce what he is, even tho he's not super athletic or quick. He's got a strong handle and can get to wherever he needs to. Tall guys that can shoot and put in on the floor don't have to be the fastest, cuz they have the advantage of being able to still get their shot off with just a small amount of space. Gallo will have that advantage over most guys.

That step back crossover is killer!!! The defender just never knows when he'll stop and pull up for that jumper.

Galinari looks extremely comfortable and fluid with the ball for his height. however, I don't expect him to be trying that particular fancy crossover too much, even point guards don't do that much at the NBA level. If he can just move the ball up court nicely and take his man off the dribble consistently, I will be quite happy.
