Wheeler was never quality enough to be the closer anyway.

I'm not jumping up and down about the Rays but I'm happy as heck Boston is out. I couldn't stand seeing them win again. That being said I'm not all that excited about the Rays becoming a WS champ either...

I'm rooting for the Phillies.

I feel you... and I think the phillies win anyway..

phils dont have the pitching to compete with tampa.

The Phillies don't have the pitching? They have the best starter in the series in Hamels who will certainly be able to go 2 starts maybe 3. The Phillies also have the better bullpen, Price or no Price.

oooo Hamels, and then what? Myers is hit or miss, Blanton is unreliable and Moyer looked like crap vs the dodgers. Phils bullpen is overrated outside of Madson and Lidge. Tampa in 5.

After you **** on the Phils you don't care to explain how the Rays pitching is any better. At worst I would say the staff's are even, but the Phils get the advantage becuase they Hamels and he is by far the best pitcher in this series and he will be starting Games 1 and 5 and I guarantee you he's not losing either one. All the Phils need in their pen is Madson and Lidge, especially when Hamels pitches.

Everything with you has a anti-yankee or pro-met connotation to it. The Phillies are the Mets rival so you **** on them whenever you can.

Tampa has 4 legit starters to Phillys 1. Hamels is good, but not unbelievable. And the philly will be using many in the pen on days hamels doeesn't pitch. It's not ****ting on Philly, its the truth, they aren't known for their starting pitching.

you can look at stats all you want but in a 7 game series, anything can happen. phillies have a *never say die* attitude so don't discount that. it will be a fun series and i have no idea who is going to win it. i just hope it goes 7.

Maybe I'm missing the underlying story (the Mets choking again kinda killed my playoff viewership) but is this series going to get the TV ratings?

Phils have that spunk & scrappiness that u can never count out in any short series... i think the Rays are definitely the favorites but that Shane Victorino is just unreal w/his clutch hits in these types of games, & u always gotta account for Rollins & Howard, even tho they're not hitting much this postseason... either 1 can break out at any time.

all i know is i'm happy i don't have to watch the Dodgers & Red Sux in the WS this year... i don't care who wins at this point.

Its still not good. I'm not impressed by a team who beat a collapsing brewers team, a dodger team fueled by 1 player, and a tampa team that was mentally wiped. Good for the phillies they stepped it up when it counted.

the world series has been pretty weird the last few years. i'm still shocked that the cardinals beat the tigers in 06, and a team with brett myers, jamie moyer, and joe blanton as 3/4th's of the rotation winning a WS i mean, that is pretty wild. hamels is an absolute stud but the rest of these guys are mediocre at best. i still think moyer got a lot more calls than garza did in game 3, and moyer simply needs to get calls to win ball games since he throws 81MPH fast balls. oh well i really dont care about either team, its just funny how baseball works.

i don't think Mets fans are in any place to downgrade a team that beat them out for their own division... u don't see any Yankees fans begrudging the Rays for the awesome season they just had... lay down the sour apples & give props where they're due.

I said Phillies won when it counted, but to say they played anyone good besides tampa(who was wiped out after boston) is a joke. This championship was handed to them on a silver platter. No big feat, even if it were the mets instead of philly.

oh please, Tampa looked awesome against Boston & looked to be the best team in baseball going into the WS & the Phils beat them... they deserve tons of props for doing so, end of story... u seriously have a rare talent to find an excuse in anything to detract from a team you dislike's joy, i'll give u that much.
