I'm afraid to watch Friday's pre-season game against Boston, but I am wondering how they will match up. Maybe I'll just watch the second quarter.

Why would you be afraid to watch Friday's game? That's just showing everyone that you have no confidence and as long as we have no confidence in our guys, then they will never have confidence themselves. The Knicks are very capable of beating bastan-bastards. Don't be a sissy dude.

Hmmm, in re-reading this rookies post, I feel that maybe I was a little harsh on the kid. Don't be afraid and welcome.

The game is not the only thing to be afraid of. Now that you are going to be posting here, I am in your every nightmare, rookie. I will be everywhere you look. And when I need to take a break, Bip is gonna take over.

Welcome to the boards.

and watch out when he gets drunk, very huggy.

Specially when he starts pulling out those stuffed animals.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Welcome Rookie! Forget about fear tho! Now that KG has won his title i'm back to full on HATE for Boston. I love KG, but screw BAHSTIN. I hope they have a lousy year and we become their thorn in the side all season. YOu know how good teams often have an inexplicably bad record against a lesser team? We'll I hope we beat them every time we play.

Great...I just finished watching the Celtics game (because I can't watch the Sox game anymore) and they just beat the nets...but, the big three did not play. Doc says that starting tomorrow he is going to play them a lot more...which I like...I wanna see how the Knicks matchup against the best...should be fun.

To be fair, the Swamprats could potentially be in the division basement this season.

Just in case you forgot: The knicks beat the Celtics in pre-season last year. Here are a few quotes following that game

"fans in NY have high expectations for their young, talented squad"

"The mood here in New York is one of anticipation and optimism as the Knicks' home opener against the Timberwolves approaches"

Celtics light up Knicks 11/30/07. Final score 105-59

You hear that Boston--FORMIDABLE

Seriously Boston isnt even trying and theyve won 4-5. I want to see how the big men play tonight as there will be two waves of big men who are bigger people for the most part. Let's see JC wake up for this game as well.

Someone's going to have to educate me on this "rivalry" we have with the Celtics. Outside of THAT GAME last year and some run-ins with Bird and friends in the playoffs back in the day, what history do we have with them? Or this solely just a New York/Boston thing?

we had some heated games when Bernard king was a Knick. he used to destroy the celtics and almost singlehandedly beat them in the playoffs. It was a brief rivalry.

The Celtics must hate us because Doc Rivers sat out the big 3 just so they can play the Knicks tonite.

Boston sucked for the better part of 16 years and were only getting to be good when we began our decline. Its as much their fault that we don't have a real rivalry anymore than it is ours. MOSTLY the rivalry is between the fans of the cities.. perpetuated by the Yanks-Sawx conflagrations.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

I'm curious to see how the new offense fairs against a top defensive team. I'm curious to see how Chan does against the likes of PP. To be honest we don't have an answer for KG or Ray Allen, but I'm more concerned with our competitive effort. We know they're way better, but we need to see some better defensive execution and better 4th qtr performances.

He beat them in some playoff games but never won a series. Came close in 84 when we took them to 7 games. I remember when Cornbread Maxwell said King aint scoring 40 on me....and King proceded to drop 40 at the garden.

We had some good games against them in the late 80's early 90's aswell. Who can forget the series when we beat them and Ewing put the icing on the cake with the fall away 3 in the corner....AT BOSTON GARDEN....
