obama should've totally discredited palin but took the gentlemen's approach while mccain gave reasons why biden *would not* be a good president...

Holy Shit....did anyone else just catch that on CNN....I think McCain just sucked all the air out of the room wiht that deep breath....what the hell was that

McCain was doing well, but then started blowing it, when Obama says let's not criticize the person's character, and then McCain says we need to know what kind of relationship Obama had with Ayers, and then his point about ACORN, who people apparently don't know jack about.

I used to work for an organization that was in their building in Brooklyn, and I know they do a tremendous amount of good work for working class folks. McCain was trying to hurt Obama by associating him with ACORN!? Now I've heard it all! They work with low-income families to find ways to buy homes they can afford, and all kinds of so-called "real" American ideals, yet McCain can now use them as a tool to hurt Barrack? I'm flabbergasted.

I saw the ACORN head discuss the voter "fraud" situation this AM, and she said if anyone did anything wrong then that was not their policy, and that she agrees with finding any mistakes, through the correct process, and that the local governments who run elections should get the resources to actually do their job correct. It may have been rouge elements, but just like McCain says that rouge folks at his rallies don't repreent him nor can rouge people at ACORN represent them, nor Obama (this last bit is my own observation).

But she also said that if there were fake registered voters, that probably won't even probably vote. I understand the rationale for making sure that everyone who votes is checked, but just like the problem with trying to apply a standard when there are no uniform standards ACROSS THE NATION when it comes to all kinds of things we all think are the same, like voting, then it's ridiculous to go crazy applying them.

Accountability matters, but it's hypocritical for many to rail on people for not applying standards when they don't have to face the same issues. History shows that people of color, and poorer folks have been given more obstacles to voting than anyone else. This cannot be denied, even in modern elections, so to go crazy over this, when more well off areas, or more liberal states don't deal with this is more about at least as problematic, if not more so, when it comes to applying a standard.

You could tell by the blank stare he had while Obama made that answer.

Mccain is a funny guy. He keeps talking about the 1 billion we spent on trading with south america. I mean 1 billion is small potatoes... we just gave 700 billion to bail out our banks.. LOL..
all of that sounds good, but obama was correct, we have to make sure that workers rights are not compromised under such a free trade agreement.. and we are talking about south america here.. LOL

Anyone else watching CNN...seems like the ladies love Obama...
