I think so far Walsh is looking very smart by not taking one of those crap trades for Zach. I said before the preseason ever started that I think Zach is going to play huge for us and be a good teammate while doing so. So far, so good.

Any scenario that involves moving Curry and Crawford would push this franchise in the direction we have been hoping for since we acquired those two bums.

It also give Zach the chance to show he is unselfish and possibly move him for an expiring deal. I think Darko for Curry is pretty fair for both parties since Darko isn't a big time player they can work Eddy into their offense with the second unit.

Also very optimistic about a possible allstar combo of Lee and Chandler as far as their production goes. Throw in Nate and you have a nice developing unit for the future. Who knows that Gallo will ever be but if he can be a nice 6th man like Kucoc was I will take it.

As presently constructed if you get rid of curry and crawford and marbury and rose expire, the knicks have a team in place to compete for a title with the addition of Lebron, because they will add talent in the draft. Don't laugh by the time lebron is up for free agency lee will be as effective shooting from the outside as any power foward, chandler is going to be fringe allstar, nate can score with anybody, and they can add role players to do the dirty work.

I love Lee, and it is great to see that Randolph is buying into the system, but I don't think you can really compete with the big boys with a front court of Lee, Zach, and Q. Substituting Chandler for Q gives you a guy with some off the ball shot blocking ability, but your interior D is still too soft to put fear in the minds of opponents driving to the basket.

I'm glad Donnie wasn't able to trade Zach.....he held firm and didn't get fleeced.

I was down to trade Zach simply cuz of the contract. He hasn't given us a reason to hate him since he's been here and we've debated it a lot here. He's done nothing but play ball. Isiah didn't work it right. What we are witnessing is a coach that can take a team and put guys in the right situations to be sucsessfull. Its unbelievably awesome.

I'm suprised no one mentioned that lame idea to "raise a players value" for the sake of trading him later. Bogus. Zach is now playing within a system that fits and the rest of the team is falling right where they always should have.

Go Knicks.

Thats the lineup I would go with

C Randolph
F Lee
F Chandler

Even though it's a tad small I think it's very good. We have to except that we will be winning with offense and these guys can all really rebound score and all player hard. I think it can be one of the better frontcourts in the NBA---do we need a guy like a Leon Powe/Jason Maxiell type--yes--do we need another very athletic 2g with size yes. Can we address these issues right now--I dont think so.

Unless we can do a deal where we give an ending contract for one with two years on it --we may need to stay patient.

Other way is to bring in a vet that is unsigned like a Jake Voshkul who can bang and has played in the Suns offense before and let someone go like a Jerome James who we get nothing out of.

Zach is still the guy that argued with refs while the play went on without him, still is a bone head, but he at least is trying to fit in and if he is buying in to the system thats massive for him and the team. Even if he does not fit in long term.

Funny, that's probably what they said about you
na man... I am a ray of sunshine on the field. Its off the field that I am prick

And TMS I demand you take away your past criticisms of Zach.

Seriously though he will be OK. His contract sucks but he can play and wants to win. Curry doesnt want to play and doesnt care about winning. He plays because he is huge

I agree curry plays because he is huge and it pays well. He can sit around with his family and afford to eat big expensive meals. he can take vacations to fancy places and eat big expensive meals. He can go out on the town in his bentley and eat, big expensive meals. Yes the NBA is a great paying gig for curry, he shows up, stays in shape every contract year( which is roughly once every 6 years for these guys) signs a new deal, and keeps it moving.

Lee and Zach are elite rebounders.....both can handle well enough to get where they wanna go and even bring the rock up court. They both are showing the can pass very well........and shoot. David lee is a whole new monster now. One play last night he got the ball deep on the wing with his back to the basket, immediately turned and shot....all net. I caught a mild hard-on after that play.

Zach and Lee are a dangerous duo. I hope they both can show the league their play during the regular season and beyond.

I probably shouldn't have but I laughed at this.

Eddy just doesn't care. I thought he would after that 43-point game he had a while back but it looks like that wasn't enough.

I said pretty much the same thing Eny. I'm still down to trade Zach, but not for either of those deals that teams were trying to fleece us. As much of a malcontent Zach CAN be, he's still a very productive player and I think playing under MikeD is going to rebound his image a little bit.

This is why I agreed with the idea of Walsh being patient. Let things resolve themselves as the season plays along. We can't be in such a rush to get rid of guys without seeing what they'll do with this opportunity. Some guys are gonna flourish and others will wilt. So far Curry is wilting really bad. Some of it was just bad luck, but he didn't exactly come into camp fit and trim and ready to run.

If Jared doesn't get hurt, i don't even think Curry sees the 6 mins he got last night. I think MDA is that down on him. He won't say it bluntly, but you can just tell that Curry is not his kind of player and unless he made a complete turnaround and went vegetarian on us, I don't see a happy ending for Curry right now. For what we do, Jared is clearly a better fit. We need a more mobile help defender and Jared is much closer to that than Curry can ever be. I never thought i'd be so anxious to see Jared come back as I am now. It doesn't seem like we'll be able to get a true Shot blocker anytime soon and he's the closest thing we've got on the roster.

It's a bit early. Between Zach and Curry, I've always felt that Curry was the one who should go. But I'm not sold on Randolph yet. I'd like to see this team play some regular season games, and see how they handle adversity. I do think it's great that Marbs has to come off the bench. If you can't get rid of him, that's the next best thing.

that's why i think adding a shotblocker like Darko in exchange for Curry is our best bet at this point... unless we can get a guy like Camby who would be an ideal fit obviously but that's not likely.

Mike is showing that guys will have to earn there time. Clyde says it all the time, he has no allegience to any of these guys and will play who plays best and hardest. Some will step up to that challenge and some will not. That's okay, because in the future when this team is winning, you only want those guys that are up to that challenge.

At this point in time I'm not even sure that Curry understands that he may be out of the rotation. I think he feels he has some body of work that guarantees that he starts.

let's not go overboard here w/the Zach lovefest... the guy was a horrible fit last year, there's no even arguing that... & squirting water into a teammate's face during a time out because he didn't get the ball on a possession doesn't exactly qualify as not giving fans a reason to dislike the guy... i won't even bother playing that classic YouTube clip of his And 1 baller skills.

like i said, he's always been a talented player, i don't think anyone questioned that... just whether or not he'd be a good fit w/this team, & so far it looks like that might have a chance of happening if he keeps playing the way he has this preseason.

i completely agree... i'm not sold on him either... the way this team handles losing will be a big key... i wanna see the makeup of their character playing under their new head coach... still if we can somehow dump Zach's contract for an expiring i'd do it.
