I have been wrong before but I view Mardy's high water mark as Kevin Ollie.

It's a little curious that Walsh had such a hard on for Duhon.

Collins is a bigger stronger guard on a small deal that plays solid defense, and gets to the basket a lot easier than Duhon. Not to mention he is in the best shape of his short career and if you played the guy I think you could expect the same numbers he put up at the end of his rookie season. He looks to be a lot sharper, jumper higher and making good decisions. Being 6'5 is an advantage at the position since very few guards have that kind of size.

Seems like the typical Knicks mid-level signing, duplicating something for twice the money for half the production.

i seriously don't get the problem u guys have w/Duhon this pre-season... he's been playing solid ball & playing his role... the guy who needs to go is Marbury, i don't care if he's the most talented G on this squad... he's got no future on this team, we need to be getting Nate & Mardy more minutes to let them develop their games & send Marbury packing yesterday.

I don't get it either. He's not a major cog. He's just a solid player, who's been playing pretty solid so far and seems to be picking up the system. He'll be fine. After all we've been through with Marbs I can't beleive that people want more of a role from him. But I do think that D'Antonio will be fair. Whoever is playing well will get the minutes. If Duhon continues on this pace I don't see him relinquishing his role unless someone takes it. So far noone has.

I think we should be fair to Mardy last year was a lost year for Mardy. You have to remember he was recovering from knee surgery and that added with his lack of PT made his game go down hill. What Mardy brings is a good handle for a guy his size. Mardy is 6'5'' with a handle can get to his spots and make things happen. Mardy rebounds something we can't say about Crawford and plays defense at a respectable level again something Crawford can't do. Some of us waited for Lee to develope a jumper I think Mardy deserves a chance to develope a decent jumper. Mardy is more in control that Crawford takes the right kind of shots. I think Mardy can have a postive impact on the team.

Mardy looks better now that he is fully healed from his injuries. I would rather see him play a lot of minutes this year than Marbury (nothing against Marbury) since we all know once this season is over Stephan is gone. There is no future with Marbury on this team so if guys like Mardy and Nate are playing well, they should get the minutes.

Mardy is playing much better so far IMO. I think he's a nice bench player. He does a little of everything, but nothing great. He's still young and can get better, so i'd like to see him stick around until we find someone better.

To be honest we could use a real PG with more talent than Duhon or Mardy. Neither guy is perfect, tho I love Mardy's size. He's not a great ball handler and neither is Duhon really. If we had to play with Mardy at the point I think he'd do a decent job, but his shot would have to improve even more.

Duhon - Far from an elite level PG and we're gonna get some shaky decisions and ballhandling from time to time and I really think his defense is way overrated (Andre Miller was toying with him last night) but I tell ya, as long as he sets his feet this dude'll kill ya from deep. I know his previous shooting percentages don't back it up but I love his shooting stroke from deep. In this offense he's gonna be expected to put up shots and I think he can make 'em at a good clip. Without going overboard, I'd expect double-degit points (maybe 10-12 ppg) with an excellent shooting % from 3, possibly pushing the 40% mark - I think he could be that good a 3-pt shooter. I'll go out on a limb right now and predict he'll be asked to participate in the 3-pt shootout during all-star weekend this year. That's the number 1 thing that stands out the most for me when looking at his game - has all the tools to be a very good distance shooter.

how can people be head over heels about what Nate is doing, defend what Crawford is doing but dismiss Mardy's development?

He has been a trong presence on the wings with his slashing and touch near the basket finishing.
the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

It's funny cuz based on when he was drafted you'd not give him much chance to even stick in the league. He is making a strong comeback after the problems he had last year due to the surgery. I love his desire to come back strong. When he's on there you can see his confidence level is much higher. In time this guy is gonna be a solid role player. He defends, rebounds, slashes, runs the floor and he's improving his shooting. Like I said he's not great at anything but he's good at a number of things.

the guy sucks. Frank Williams, Mike Sweetney and Majec Lampe showed more than him. Hey.. maybe he works his ass off and becomes a poor mans... Eric Snow.

I am sure he would look great with Kobe, Bynum, Gasol and Odom

agree if you play him strictly at point he probably will underwhelm.

Use him like MDA has been using him and IMO he has offensive potential

Yup- that is all you need to know about his game.

He's a keeper if he can develop any kind of consistent jump shot. I would have been shooting 500 or more 15ft-20ft jumpers a day during the offseason if I was him. Why can a guy like Lee add a new facet to his game each year while guys like Balkman and Mardy do not improve their games?

For me Mardy gets little bit of a slide. The dude was obviously hurt all last year and did focus on losing weight, getting the knee better and getting his explosive back. He did that. We still don't know if his shot is there or not, most of this shots come right around the basket.
