I loved that song as a kid. I hear BHC4 in the works.

Hey Oohah, maybe you should start an 80's special thread. The 80's were my favorite time.
I'll never trust this' team again.

All of you young studs owe your pop culture to those late baby boomers who fought for your freedoms from the older society that wouldn't let go and the the beatniks who wrote and influenced them for the future to come. For better or for worse, it's yours to do the right thing.

Well, were does one begin? I'll give it a shot.

Remember the 1980's? When:
Reagonomics came to be?
The fall of the Berlin Wall?
Margaret Thatcher and her ring of power and near death.
The Middle East as it was starting to pick up in tensions, when the U.S. was strictly trying to be peace maker?
War On Drugs!

Seat belts, child safety seats and bike helmets were starting to be more enforced and recommended?
More and more rejection of smoking and public concerns about second hand smoke?
The opposition to Nuclear Plants because of what happened in Chernobyl?
The Smurfs!
Mt. St. Helens blows it's top?

Mexico city's devastating earthquake?
Exxon Valdez oil spill in Alaska, devastating the eco system there?
Movies & television like:
Spinal Tap
Pretty In Pink
Weird Science
Back To School
Back To The Future
The Breakfast Club
Flashdance
Purple Rain
The A-Team
The Cosby Show
Dallas
Different Strokes
Dynasty
The Love Boat
Magnum PI
MacGyver

Clubs such as CB-GB back in it's hey days?
Europeans focus on recycling, water and energy conservation?
And then Eco-Activists starting to appear in the U.S.?
The 1980 Olympic Boycott?
The protest by the Soviet Union, a boycott in retaliation to the U.S. led Boycott of the Olympics?
The Jamaica National Bobsled team stunning the world?
Synthesizers, keyboards & drum machines changing the sounds of music forever?
Wayne Gretzky's rise to super stardom?
The backlash of Disco? (other music I really liked)?
Video games finally starting to take off into the mainstream?
The Salvadoran massacre?
Madonna & MJ turn pop music into a major business?
The Falkland War?
The first Space Shuttle explosion?
New Wave & Synthpop are developed?
Polish Solidarity movement?
Live Aid Concert?
The Popes assassination attempt?
Mikhail Gorbacher first president of the Soviet Union?
Hip Hop becomes powerful force of music and culture?
MTV and music videos have a huge effect on the music industry?
And the many, many, many other events that took place during this unique period!

I'll never trust this' team again.

Piss off GKFv2!

The GKFv2/Eny Feud...when they meet in person, they start flexing, then the cursing comes, next thing you know, blows are thrown! They start tangling and rassling, the fight goes to the ground and starts to get really ugly!

Then, next thing you know...

Wow btw I've made a life out of playing as far away from that style as possible, but I started playing saxophone in '82 and there were a lot of 80's saxophone hooks-

Men at Work- who can it be now
and all those Huey Lewis songs- and Bruce Springsteen w Clarence Clemons etc

BUT
They're all cheeseballs. An excellent saxophone solo, probably the best use of the instrument in rock music- is the super long solo on "Shine on you crazy diamond" by Pink Floyd from the "Wish you were here album" where he starts on Baritone and switches to Tenor at the end. That is a badass solo.
If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

Good Times

Too Close For Comfort (stupid sitcom but that hot blonde chick gave me serious woodage back in the day)

Good Times was actually a 70's show, but even though The Jeffersons started in the 70's, it continued on to 85. The same for Happy Days.

The list T is partial, but your right. How could I have forgotten one of my favorites 'The Warriors'??

Okay, who knows what this 80's song is?

All I know is the first line from the lyrics:

"When the world is a monster, glad to follow you home"

Anyone who answers this gets 200 UK-bucks to use however they wish!
