playa you are making no sense, True riley should have substituted for starks and true Ewing blew that game with the missed finger roll but guess what, those mistakes stopped right there, they had no effects on the future of the knicks. Now Laydens mistakes are still effecting the knicks right now, the Ewing trade, the dice trade and the Anderson and eisley signings, you see there is the difference, these moves will continue to hurt us for years to come. How dare you blame riley for starks bad shooting and ewing for missing a finger roll, these guys had these bad games in the postseason in which they helped the knicks to get there. Under layden postseason is becomming a foreign word... As far as the dice deal goes, again it was dumb luck with the injury but the knicks needed that pick, the direction is what bothers me more than the trade, the knicks should of kept the pick and started rebuilding then....

You mean to tell me us losing in the finals or losing in the EC championship didn't affect us in the future? Of course not in management, but it put in the minds of those player and all who came aboard that we couldn't get it done. Call it dumb luck or circumstances but if we win those games we would have turned NYC out , The Mecca would of had a re-birth, many free agents would have wanted to come to NY and even play along side Ewing. Riley wouldn't have left so soon, Layden would have never been re-cruited by Checketts all the way from Utah. THINK AGAIN MY FRIEND THERE IS TWO SIDES OF THE ISSUE!
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

you can read about Layden's ruining of the Knicks here:
http://www.hoopshype.com/general_managers/scott_layden.htm

every move since he started.

best transaction: drafting somebody who never played a game for the knicks and maybe never will. great work layden.

Hey, I don't hate Layden--- he's kind of played the cards he's been dealt.

1) I do HATE LAYDEN with a passion
2) as far as your comment about playing the hand he's been dealt.. BS!!

haha pike, you are on a roll, but I do disagree, about KVH not being able to carry Jamison's Jock strap. that is a bit much man, I mean you are talking about Jamison as if he is Webber or something...

When I mentioned the Layden loyalists, essentially this was what I was referring to, these Layden excuse makers who feel compelled to act as Layden’s defense attorney. Playa 2 has got to be the president of that club…To make the leap and compare a split second failure on the court to a dopey executive who over the course of four years has made it a habit to make intellectually bankrupt decisions that have systematically destroyed a once proud organization is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard.

I just can’t understand the “his hand was forced” path of thought. Were the Knicks the 1996 Bulls or the 85 Lakers when Layden took control…no. They were an organization that needed a clear concise plan and some good hard work and elbow grease.

So what does he do, he stockpiles the team with worthless hideously overpaid scrubs which only serves to reflect his own pathetic image and ability, and drive loyal Knick fans to the asylum. And amazingly enough, somehow this is “not his fault”. Say what!

Some people keep using LJ’s flawed back, or the Patrick Ewing saga (which he completely butchered like everything else btw) as some sort of legit cop out. PLEASE…. This guy just has a bad, bad, bad, bad, bad basketball mind, that’s really all there is to it. That and he is really, really lazy and unimaginative. It literally makes me nauseous when I think about all the bright hardworking basketball minds that are out there without jobs, while this silver spooned fool who has had everything handed to him by his daddy gets to go out and make crippling decision and collect millions in the process.

Fishmike I have to continue the point on Eisley and Shandon. Sorry, but I get all pavlovian whenever his name comes up. I think you are being just a tad to easy on him. To me, Eisely is the basketball equivalent of Scott Layden. I think its absolutely fair to judge him based on his contract. By those standards he is by far and away the worst point guard in the history of the NBA. But even taking out the ridiculous contract, he still is a horrible basketball player.

Point guards are supposed to be the sparkplug for the team, making them better and providing energy and leadership. All Eisely does is walk the ball to half court at a molasses pace (even on a fast break) and gently hand the ball off to Allen Houston or the since jettisoned Spreewell…basically forcing them to kill themselves in order to off a decent shot. All this happens while Eisley slinks meekly to the half-court line in hopes he wont have to get involved. And on defense he might as well bring a red matador cape with him. Like I said earlier, If I ever see Eisely play with even a shred of heart or athleticism I think I would fall into a coma, his game is about as exciting as Masterpiece Theater. He has CBA 10 day contract talent at best. Eisely makes you sick, he makes me wish I never discovered the game of basketball. To think this guy makes over 40 million dollars, what an indictment on this country.

Shandon is just a generic role player who is made to look athletic because he is surrounded by a bunch of players who probably couldn’t jump over a DVD player. Well, a generic role player who is worth 30 million in Layden’s twisted mind.

TKF, you are 100% right. There was no way the Knicks would draft somebody like Amare. The Knicks would never take a chance on a young ultra talented big man with superstar potential, the Knicks just don’t do those kinds of things…Like Jazz74 said they would rather spend millions on bums like Spoon. The Knicks don’t think outside of the box, they have let the whole wave of high schooler’s pass them by, while other organizations snatch up the McGrady’s, O‘neal‘s, Kobe’s & Amare’s of the world. Its one of the myriad of reasons why the Knicks are the laughingstock of the NBA
