The one prop I will ever give Scott LayDown is that he was lucky (NOT "smart", "brilliant", "shrewd" or any other positive description of cognitive ability. It just doesn't apply to him) enough to get Lampe and but out the Real Madrid contract. If Lampe turns out to be a real deal player in the NBA, signing Lampe will be the one thing I remember about LayDown that won't make me cringe at the thought...
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

I like this kid. He has shown the ability to bounce back form a bad start. He has hunger from being picked in the 2nd round and from all indicatinons he is smart and wants to get better. Best of all, he has an NBA body at 18! If he can handle it, I would plan for him to play 15-20 mins a night. I think he could get you 8 and 4 in that time. Not bad. that would mean 16 and 8 in 35 mins...

NY NEEDS TO DEVELOP SWEETNEY, LAMPE and FWILL from DAY ONE this season. If you think about it, that is 3/5 of a starting lineup in 2 years. The more they play together the better.

Like it or not, Lampe was a great pick by NY. Lucky? YES! But xome times it is better to be lucky than smart!

playa,

JVG is gone and so are Ewing and Spree. This team is full of fresh faces. If they play tough D, and that is a big IF, and they can blend and develop the young talent, they have a chance to be decent. The success of this years team depends on how well the young guys develop. As you have always said, that is up to the COACHING STAFF and, as I have always said, the inititiative and talent of the young players themselves.

I agree Chaney and his staff must be able to communicate what they actually expect from their young players and give them realistic goals and roles on the team that would breed confidence in them.
