It's in his contract. He has every right to demand every penny and if the Knicks don't live up to their bargain, without Marbury's permission, he has every right to sue.

no one should expect these guys to do otherwise... none of us would in their place either... what's in a contract is what's in a contract, bottomline... if the Knicks don't want him anymore, Marbs is not under any obligation to take anything less than what's owed him... same goes for Zach or anyone else on this team... i don't know why anyone would think these guys would take a lesser buyout & do the Knicks any favors when they have no real reason to do so... feelings of guilt don't factor here... this is binness.

He should have the common sense to.......Ah, never mind, we talking Steph here!

Nothing common with him, and no sense at all.

He is a good guy in a way. Ego centric beyond belief, not mean spirited (anymore) and looney tunes to the max.

I hope we can make him a knick for life.

all i'm saying is the Knicks were dumb enough to take on this guy w/all his known issues, it's pretty ridiculous for them to expect Marbs to now take a lesser buyout to be booted off this team... the Knicks knew the risks & now they're paying for them in spades... they have no one to blame but themselves... Marbury doesn't need to capitulate, as much as all of us would love to see him do & show some sense of accountability for once... accountability won't pay for his private jet as Masterplan pointed out.

I wish Marbury would be gone before the season, but if he is still on the team by opening day, then I expect he will play. I am hoping that D'A will work with him during pre-season along with the rest of the team and try to get everyone geared to his style of play. If Marbs can work in the new system, great. If not he doesn't play. Or if Duhon runs the team better, then Duhon starts. If Marbury acts up, fine him....or suspend him if it gets really bad. Then Marbury will lose some money. Maybe the threat of losing "His Money" will keep him focused and out of trouble. He can be a very good basketball player. But still, I hope we buy him out for a few million dollars less than his salary.

Marbs has really turned me against him last year...He should really be gone so this organization can move on...That said, he is the only guy right now on this team that can make the Knicks watchable/somewhat competitive this year...The picture of Marbs running the point in Boston to another Championship will be tough for Knick management as well...The press won't let them forget it if Marbs plays well elsewhere...I'm sure they are thinking about that because the Knicks will stink this year again....

What are you talking about? Most of the press (the only exception is Berman) want the Knicks to buy out/waive Marbury. They wont give anyone flack over it.

Marbury and Grunfeld will be waived at the end of camp to bring the roster to 15 players.

I don't care what people say we were worst by far with out him, and if you can't replace him equally or better, then your headed in the wrong direction.

LOL. Worse without him? I seem to remember winning 23 games with him too. Please save us that BS.

i'm curious to know how well anyone expects this team to perform w/a guy that everyone can't stand leading them at the point, no matter how motivated he may be this season, but i guess winning cures all ills... the only problem is we've never won w/him leading us like u said, so why should anyone expect anything different.

Is everyone forgetting how teams always seem to improve after shipping Marbury out? Trade him!!! even if its for garbage!!! (as long as it doesnt hurt us in 2010)

"We need to concentrate on how we're going to win, not whether I'm getting waived or if I'm getting all my money," Marbury said.

"It shouldn't matter if I go to a team in the same conference or a rival team," Marbury said. "They are concentrating on the direction best for them. There's nothing wrong with that - nothing wrong with change. If D'Antoni feels he needs to go in another direction with a starting point guard (Chris Duhon), that's fine. I know I'm going to play someplace else.

"I know what I can do on the basketball court. They know as well. There are newspaper writers and other people saying I can't play anymore. I want to prove to my fans . . . what I can do."

Would he be willing to be a backup?

"I'm not coming off the bench here in New York," Marbury said.

"If D'Antoni feels a certain way, he should speak his peace now," Marbury said. "If he feels he's going in a different direction with Duhon, that's fine with me. It's OK. No problem at all. But it shouldn't be about the money. It should be about building the franchise and nobody should be worried where I go."

He's all about Team, all ego aside, as long as he doesn't come off the bench for the Knicks.
