i don't like marbury and was never a fan of marbury. but the acquisition of marbury was not the reason why the franchise went down the sh tter. it was basically every acquisition AFTER marbury that did it. isiah is to blame for not being able to recognize the type of player marbury was and to build a team that would have maximized his talents (and team's win output). it started almost immediately by removing kvh and doleac. and then compounded by adding crawford + curry.

again, this team with marbury + zach as it's primary duo would DESTROY any team with crawford + curry as it's primary duo...

Forget his athleticism (which may or may not be rapidly declining). Just mentally (stupid) and emotionally (crazy) speaking...things are on a steep downward spiral for Moronbury.

is this steph and fishmike? :) i keeeed i keeeed

i am all for letting him stay at home with miss chichi, collect his paycheck and "make love to pressure" and the nanny once in a while.

once he realizes that he's not playing at the NBA level and that next year, he'll be out of shape for sure.......he'll put his bargaining chips on the table and listen to what Donnie has to say.

Knicks will get around the Association by having lots of interns, lots of trucks, the jet, Isiah, and all kinds of distractions. They will tell him to be on the bus but leave an hour earlier, put blow in his kool Aid, drug test him, put little speakers under his pillow and have little voices tell him things, and he'll implode under his hown weight!

I want him on the team, I want the tatto on his head to shine in the garden, I want to see him succeed, get hurt, yell at Gallo, let Malik beat him up, score 50 pts, and then leave.......

he was hurt. He had surgery. Of course he looked shot.

Has there ever been another shooting guard in the history of the game to average 8 assists?

He's a PG. You may not like his style but a healthy Marbury is the guard, PG or otherwise on this team. If you think handing the reigns to Duhon or Mardy Collins is going to improve this team your nuts. We are paying a coach $4mm a year to figure out how to get this talent playing well together. If the players cant do what he asks get new players that fit better. That hasnt happened yet

He may be a PG, but he's not a winning PG. He doesn't make anyone better and he pouts. To top it off, we had 2 33 win seasons and 2 23 win seasons with him. So if we get worse without him, at least it nails us in for a number 1 pick.

I personally think we're better with Duhon as the starting PG, and NOT b/c he's not better. Duhon isn't anywhere close to as good as Marbury. However, he does defend, and he does allow Crawford to switch to his natural spot and allows Crawford to move without the ball. Unlike Marbury, who required Crawford to to do a lot of the ball distributing, which led to turnover city. Duhon is fine distributing the ball though and is fine being an actual PG. Not only that, but Duhon is better than both Crawford AND Marbury at silly little things like post entry passes and backdoor feeds. I thought I was gonna slap myself watching all the turnovers occur with Crawbury attempting to do those.

We're better off with Marbury gone.

Raise hell where? From his Brooklyn home? Who cares? Under my proposal, he never wears a Knick jersey again. And to the degree he raises hell, he'd only be hurting himself further.

See ya Marbs, yeah we owe you 21mm, but we're done with people like you on our active roster.
Lol knowing Marbury's crazy ass, he just might buy courtside tickets with his jersey and sneakers on.

LOL. I would pay to see that.

he made KT, Doleac and KVH better and was the motor on that team which was winning a lot of games. He is on for one more year

We don't have KT, Doleac and KVH, 3 players who THRIVE off pick and roll and/or drive and kick the ball out PGs. We have Curry, who just doesn't know how to play basketball, and Zach, who at times may be able to play a team game, like once in a blue moon. However, his offense is more about one on one. Not playing pick and roll. And he SURE hasn't made Crawford better. And we have no clue what to expect from Gallinari.

Marbury has a contract, pay him his money.

Isiah is dolans buddy, so dolan take some of the money from isiah's contract and give to steph and then waive him.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

keeping Marbury on the payroll but not letting him play is not a good option for us as far as i'm concerned... u can't prevent a player from practicing if he's healthy enough to play, we saw that last year when the Player's union got involved after Isiah tried to ban Marbury from MSG after he went AWOL, & they'll do the same if the Knicks try & pull that again... u can't have this guy being a distraction again this year... his teammates hate him, his coach doesn't wanna coach him, his owner doesn't want him here anymore, the fans want him out... anyone need anymore reasons why we need to get rid of this guy?

1. Let him play.

Why? Because he's reportedly in great shape, because he's one of those athletes that turns it on to get the next contract (only to turn it off once the ink is dry), because we can possibly up his trade value for a deadline move.

Why not? Because he's lost the trust of teammates, because he's a bad fit for any style that doesn't allow him to dominate the basketball, because its quite possible he's no longer the athlete he once was and since he has the bball IQ of a fire hydrant & that combo of factors will lead to a huge/quick dropoff in abiliy (let alone the intangible negatives he brings). Pre-surgery, last year, Marbury couldn't stay in front of people & couldn't get to the rim the way he once did.

Chances of happening? 5%

2. Buy him out, waive him.

Why? Because he's simply no longer welcome & we need to delete him ASAP.

Why not? Because you'd be paying a motivated & fit Marbury 20mm to play in Miami.

Chances of happening? 85%

3. Tell him to sit home & rot, albeit while collecting $20mm. Tell him he's no longer welcome, but they won't buy him out unless its at a 25% discount.

Why? Because he's simply no longer welcome & we need to delete him ASAP. But in this scenario (my favorite), you make a more direct point about how the new Knicks won't tolerate this type of player or person any longer AND you maintain a trade chip for the deadline. That trade chip being an expiring contract. If a trade doesn't present itself in Feb, you lose nothing. You also get to play a little game of chicken with Marbury (i.e. if he desperately wants to play & possibly save his career, he may indeed opt for a discounted buy out).

Why not? I can think of no reason why not, this the most creative, most effective way of ending the Marbury era.

Chances of happening? 10%

It happened.
