So basically, he's a role player who only takes wide open layups and the occasional short jumper that he'll hit 20% of the time. Cool.

Exactly. That is what he is. But he should be very effective at it. I dispute the 20% from 5-8 feet especially since I think he will be moving forward and high over the rim for most of those. Curry can make that shot. He just needs to get used to it. He'll probably get fouled a lot on those too.

Otherwise get rid of him, I don't want to see him freezing the whole offense with his back to the basket and then getting called for a offensive foul. I'm tired of it.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Actually the layups don't have to be that open because he can hammer it on anyone once he gets his butt moving fast. Kind of the way David Lee approaches his offense. The main thing is to get Curry facing the basket and ready to catch the ball while moving forward.

I'm with Bonn. (hard to believe, right?)

If Z-Bo is so untradable then move Curry and Crawford, who equal $20 million instead of 17. The next year we'd then lose Zach's contract and could be in position to sign another free agent (Yao, Melo, etc.).

I have been a Curry and Craw supporter, but they can be moved if it means we can't do so with Zach, and it helps us get into the free-agent market after the 2010 season.

i think Zach MUST be moved, no matter what... u can't have selfish guys like him on a team that's predicated on a team first mentality if u ask me, unless that player happens to have the type of talent that Kobe Bryant has.

i'd be all for trading Eddy Curry but unlike Zach i think it's a better idea to pump up his value next season & then dumping him if we can rather than trading low on him... i think after that season he had 2 years ago, there were teams out there interested in him... unlike Zach who after a career 23 & 10 season his value was Steve Francis' expiring & Channing Frye... also, i don't see Eddy being a problem in the lockerroom or off the court, so there are no worries that he'll detract from his value in that regard... i think it's very realistic to think that he'll improve this season playing under Mike D's system & drastically improve his trade value, but that's only IF Zach is dumped before the season begins... otherwise it's just another exercise in futility & we'll be right back here next offseason talking about the same exact things that have gone wrong w/our team since last season & looking for ways to fix those same exact problems.

I'd still like to see how things would work for us with a Curry/Darko pairing if we end up trading Curry. In the past we were looking to pair Curry with a shotblocker/rebounder and Darko could do some of that but also score a little.

If not him then i'd settle for Curry/Lee and see how that works. I'm just not ready to give up on Curry yet. I see how close he was to being able to give us a respectable presence at Center a couple of years ago and I still think he can be that guy and better. Last year was a setback and showed how fragile his personality can be, but I think we can put him in a better situation and get a lot more out of him.

Curry has earned our skepticism. I'm glad to see that he does look a little thinner and that he's working out this summer. But he's got a lot to prove on the court.
