Eny,

Not to sound condesending, but unplug and get into reading.

Its portable, opens the mind and libraries can be cool. Might want to look into some of the seminars and stuff they have. While there might not be any super hot chicks around, you might find one with a good mind on top of a nice body. If no social aspects, at least there are good magazines and obviously some good books to be had. Even the classics are worthy of another look now that your more "mature".

I like to read a lot of self help books and books on religion and spirituality. I'm also starting to crave meeting people that are into the same things......seminars are something I'm looking into, maybe even retreats.

Here's his collection.

Trust me on this, he makes the things of God very simple to understand like no one else.

a gamecube?

You need to fork over that dough and get an XBOX360. Once you do that, go cop "MLB - The Show". You will be entertained.

If money is tight, go volunteer at the local Park & Rec. I started coaching U10 girls soccer, and its actually keeping me pretty busy throughout the week.

co-sign. Eny, you worked too damn hard to settle for a Gamecube unless you are oppose to the games on the next gen systems. I wouldn't recommend buying a next gen system used especially a XBox 360 unless you get it from GameStop because they have warranties for their used systems. As far as alternates to playing video games, I would say focus on weight lifting. I normally use the summer months to gain muscle mass.

I'm planning on getting me a PS3 this winter.

The whole thing with the Gamecube is the fact its cheap and still have some awesome games for it. My son likes all the mario games but he calls the Wii controller "mad corny daddy".......to which I agree.

I'm not into soccer or baseball but I plan on getting my son involved with basketball this fall. He actually loves it so I can only thank God for that.

I brought Wiis for my girlfriend and mother. They both love it. I myself feel the same way as you about the controller. I don't care for the games either though I enjoy playing with them. The Wii is for family and party play. Unless you really want to get the PS3 for the Blueray, I recommend an elite XBOX 360, nothing beats the XBOX online play. I only used my PS3 two times since I got it. Their online play is just a joke.

Good news about your son. You're never to young to play hoops IMHO.

Trust you? Discovering God like anything else that requires faith comes from within imho. Books are a crutch for things like this. Never read a book on God, never had to. :)

I agree with you cartman. Still its interesting to pick up books and read things that you already believe or have been feeling. Its hard to walk around thinking you are the only one that feels a certain way, then you find book that just repeats everything you think in your head. It makes you feel at ease.

riding home on the V train today. as it pulls into the northern blvd station i hear a scream (i'm guessing from the platform) and the train puts on the breaks immediately. train stops and they said it's not moving anymore. they let us out car by car. you smell something burning. i walk to the front of the train and there's a dead body. a guy face down. his left arm is gone. his right arm is gone from the elbow down. his head is on the 3rd rail. you can see sparks coming from it and his body is convulsing due to the electric shock. it was interesting to say the least. don't know if he jumped or was pushed but people were saying he jumped.

I heard about that today.

Question: how many *******s were complaining about the train not moving? How many people were still complaining after they found out what happened?

"Yeah so, how long do you think this will take, half hour? 45 mins?

I had to scream at passengers once cuz the same thing happened on the train in front of mine. I must have said it a billion times and I walked through the train to tell everyone personally, and people were asking those very same questions....I was straight up telling them there was a passenger fatality on the train in front of me.....people can be so out of touch with reality.

Passenger fatality? who cares man seriously. Nothing can be done other than think a few positive thoughts and maybe say a coupla kind words to accompany him on his way. After which its back to "**** i am late for my appointment" and "i better not get fired because of this" and" one more lateness to class and i'll have to go see the head of department". Thing is the train is not moving.

Its public transportation, its not like any1 knew the guy personally. All that matters is that these ppl got stuck. They have every right to complain cause MTA is notorious for being slowpokes when it comes to things like this. I once had to be 40 mins late because they called the cops to "take some1 off the train" and we were stuck waiting for the damn tards to come and do their job.

LOL, when I lived in NY, I have to admit I was one of those guys. You got to be somewhere an hour ago. It's NY. I remember one time, a man on my car had some medical issue that cause his death (heart attack or seizure not sure to this day) and the conductor stop the train to wait for EMS. I was trying to convince the guy to just drop the guy off on the platform and get moving. I had a 2pm meeting to get to across town. The conductor sounded offended but I offered to help him move the guy to platform. I was so pissed I cursed him out and cursed the dead guy. I missed that meeting like big time and it really cost me too. Only years later do I realize just how wrong I was but that's the rat race for you. I needed to be somewhere and the guy was already dead like you said.

Ok maybe I should not have responded because the original post was not directed at me. But since this last one is...
your words...
"Trust me on this, he makes the things of God very simple to understand like no one else." Simple for everyone or you? Are you the leading reviewer of a book club or something that we should know about? lol. Besides, if I "knew-it-all", I wouldn't put an IMHO in my earlier post.
