Say what you will-at least Mad Dog was entertaining-Francesca is a self effacing arrogant and pompous individual. Russo may not speak with great command of the English language but is knowledgeable about his sports facts. He is also the "author" of two best selling books. If they are appearing against each other I'll be listening to him on XM.

I'm with you Sage. The guy was good. Good radio. Knowledgeable, funny, entertaining, and let the fans come on and voice their opinions (and if he was ever wrong about something, would come out and tell ya, 'hey I was wrong.' Didn't really listen to them as much as I used to but I've always enjoyed them both. Chris Russo will be missed around here. No question about it.

Damnit Fine, would you give me a reason to disagree with you for once?

It's been a very somber day for me watching Mike on YES and hearing all the callers call in with there stories and whatnot. It's too bad. Atleast I can look forward to Russo moving to Sirius and I'll have another chance to listen to him. Gonna suck listening to 2 programs at once!

I grew tired of the show myself due to their general lack of knowledge of hoops... Francesa's pompous, arrogant attitude...Dog didn't know much sports wise, just tennis and baseball...But you have to give them props...They were a pioneer in a sense and had many memorable broadcasts over the years...I just don't see Dog carrying a show himself without someone who is knowledgable about sports next to him...Mike is just bland and pompous...I think the break-up hurts both...Just goes to show you people will throw money at anything...

They definately had their following but I think the times were moving beyond what they had to offer... I would remember them much like I remember Jack Buck and Joe Garigola doing baseball on Saturday afternoons...Curt Gowdy doing football on Sundays...Pat Summerall and John Madden...They are definately part of that sport landscape you remember as a kid, be it good or bad...

listening to Chris Russo is sorta akin to rubbing one's ears over a cheese grater.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.
