No gm is going to say anything that's not positive about his players to the press. I have no problem with that. Every time he talks about the cap, he's real clear about the importance of getting under the cap by then. I think he means it.

I like Donnie. He's a solid guy and he knows what he's doing.

Good stuff here, but at the same time, I don't really value summertime boasting.

Your ass has to cash those checks your mouth's been writing.

I can see a situation where Steph might be kept on the roster, but I would not bet on it at this point. It could be true that he wants to get his money's worth out of him and still hold out the possibility for using him in a trade. That would be smart, so I can't completely rule it out.

In terms of the guys like Jared, who I think he was basically lying about, I don't expect much from them even in this system. I mean do any of us really think Jared is a Diaw waiting to explode this season under D'Antoni? I think he can play a bit better, but not THAT much better.

when walsh was talking about jeffries, some people in the crowd starting laughing. he then responded saying that he'll be laughing at them at the end of the season. so i think d'antoni sees jeffries as a big piece.

Raja Bell was a terrible basketball player before going to the Suns ala JJSkinny. Maybe he envisions Fishlips as a bigger Raja Bell.

see you guys in 2011

That's what I'm saying Fishy.

Donnie could still be just blowing smoke but if he really is just here to babysitt that us fans are just in limbo until 2010-11 season? Plus any big signings or moves aren't guarenteed. Argh!

Hmmm. Walsh thinks it will take three years? Obviously he is trying to lower expectations. The truth is that he has the opportunity to build on the legacy of Cap'n Zeke, and get all the credit. The three year turnaround has already happened, it happened under Cap'n Zeke. Thank god he saved us from Scott Layden. We can only hope and pray that Walsh won't go the Layden way.

https:// It's not so hard.

With Jared, I think we all have seen him have slashes of better play and his game is not one that you would expect him to be a major cog. He's supposed to be a glue like utility guy. A big that can guard several positions, he can actually handle the ball and pass a little. He's not great at anything, but has some overall decent skills. His shooting is atrocious, but maybe if he can tighten up his shooting form... Still he's one of the worst finishers i've ever seen. LOL! In limited minutes he's a non issue.

Walsh and Isiah were big fans of Jefferies during his time at Indiana. As Thomas indicated when he signed him, that the Pacers were always trying to acquire him. This is no big surprise here. I don't know what happen to his game but Jefferies use to be able to do a bit of everything like Deng. I can see the Diaw comparisons.

Hey now Raja bell wasn't a bum before Pheonix. What you think D'antoni has a magic wand that turns spazzes into pure shooters? Raja was an known as a scorer coming from where he came from. It wasn't until he got to Philly that he became a defensive minded player. Raja is an adaptable and highly coachable guy.

Jared is a team player and a skilled player....but something happens to him when he looks toward the hoop with the ball in his hand. He's gotta be mentally retarded.

He was a scrub in Philly and Dallas. Played well for Sloan in Utah for 2 years and really lifted his game when he joined the Suns.

EDIT: Never liked him. I thought he was overhyped by media as a supposed Kobe stopper.

The problem I have with the Diaw comp. is that not once since he's been in the league has he shown anywhere near that kind of offensive ability. I don't know what happened to him either, but on this level he's just not been that kind of player. As I said I do expect that he can improve a bit, but i'm not expecting anything like a Diaw type improvement.

Yeah he was a little hyped up as the Kobe stopper, but he did give Kobe the business.

Still seriously bro, I wonder if Jared Jefferies has a handycap sticker in his car windshield.

I think Jefferies can be a very good role player but someone has to fix/Address that hitch in his shot.
But at his size he can play three positions and excel in D'antoni's offense.
In the Knick of time. Knickal for Your thoughts.

Eny's post reminds me of the episode in "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" titled "Sweet Dee's Dating A Retarded Person"

Not a good sell. If he cant get things accomplished this offseason--he's going to be backed into a corner with too much on the plate as time goes on.
