Why would they trade Miller? He's the heart, soul & most importantly, brains of that team.

obviously they feel that they can win a championship soon enough. after which iggy's trade value would be so high that they could easily trade him.

Is this the new trend amongst posters? Showcasing guys with the hopes of boosting their trade value? If iggy ever proves he deserves that money, why trade him? By the way, he is now untradeable.

exactly.... I mean what sense does it make, to grosly overpay a guy, in order to boost his trade value and then trade him? as you said, if he proves he is worthy of the deal, then why move him? Deals like this are team killers. Go back and look, I said the same thing when the bucks gave redd all of that money. I said they will regret it.

But.....with what Philly has done this would have to be considered as a team-completing deal.

This is the core they want to go to war with for many years now. Dalembert, Brand, Iggy is their big three. They're now only going to be looking to add pieces along the way.

In that I don't see why they would be worried about their cap situation or flexibility. They've spent it on players they wanted.

Andre Miller being 33 years old will be the only real concern for them looking into the future.

my point exactly.......if its a front loaded deal.......u should do it so that they are contending for a while and still be able to trade him when necessary.

I already said why......they could finally give Louis the job especially since they just paid him to stay.

Why you say Miller's the heart and soul of the team?

Anyway, I already said their whole roster is basically locked. I only mention Miller cuz he is the only.........

Man wtf I said all this in my previous post!!!

Iggy may not be the best of the group that recently re-upped with their home teams, but he's at that level. He's a good scorer - not as good, IMO, as Deng, but better than Smith or Okafor. He's very good on d and passes the ball well. The Sixers may have overpaid, but it's not crazy.

Iggy may not be the best(Deng?) or have the most upside(Smith?)he is by far the most well rounded, imo.

BTW, I hate Deng, I really, really like Smith and I am a fan of Iggy and Emeka.

Hmm. I see Iguodala as a young Vince Carter... well, Vince Carter with a lot more defense and a little less offense. I think he's better than Deng. I can't really figure out whether he's better/worse than Josh Smith - I would say that Smith is one of the very few players that's more athletic than Iguodala. Neither of them is a master of creating their own shots. Smith, as awesome as he is to watch, is still a bit of a tweener forward.

His performance in the playoffs wasn't really fair. Tayshaun Prince makes everyone look like a noob, including Lebron James.

Overpaying like that is less than ideal, but worse would've been letting him go after they just signed Elton Brand. They were a solid team without Elton. They may be a contender with him. We'll just have to wait and see. Surely, this isn't the same level of incompetence as the one where we resigned Allan Houston to $100 million.

Overall, if the Sixers are going to contend, they need Iguodala. So, if they had to overpay to keep him, there's some logic to that.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.
