Interesting that both players are Europeans....Darko and Marko. Maybe D'Antoni and other European asst coaches are looking for Europeans? They play more team Basketball.

But Jaric's contract goes thru 2010/11 for $7.6 million.
Darko's contract ends in 2009/10 for $7.5 million but he is the one we would want to keep.

Memphis has a bunch of young players, especially guards (Mike Conley, OJ Mayo, Crittenden, Lowry)So they probably want to get rid of Jaric's contract. But they also have Antoine Walker $9.3 million. I'm sure they would like to trade him if they do a Zach deal.

My guess is:
Zach, JJ2 (and maybe Mardy for salary balance) for Darko, Marko, Antoine W.

Not that this is great for us, but it does help to shed some salary. And Darko is the type of Center that we need. And moving MArko Jaric at $7.6million in 2010/11 is easier than Zach at $17 million in 2010/11.

If this trade goes down I will be extremely pleased with what Walsh has done so far.

The hiring of D'Antoni. The drafting of Gallo. Small moves like Duhon, and getting some value for Balkman.

we didn't even get a 2nd rounder for Balkman, we basically bought that pick... they got rid of Balk for a roster spot, plain & simple.

If they trade Zach and get back Antoine Walker, yet they unload another douche bag like jared or Q? Come on man regardless we do well......

Antoine Walker may be washed up now, but the Knicks currently don't have some bogus 7% body fat rule so Walker could very well come in and kick mighty ass. Or at least provide vet leadership along with another above average ball handler to run in D'antoni's system.

Fuck it man lets do this. We keep Lee and start him @ the 4. If he truly does put up something like 12 and 14 then cha-ching......Let Gallo grow the right way, start Chandler, Darko will get his minutes behind lazy Curry and behind Lee.

Lets not under estimate what Jaric brings. He and Walker bring major leadership. Jaric lead his national team. Walker was a captain in Boston in some great years, plus he stepped up big time to help Miami when they needed him that championship year.

You need good quality vets that can do more than talk **** and be the "anonomous player" in the papers like Malik Rose.

Whatever Jared supposedly brings on offense, Walker is way better at it. Jared isn't even that good on defense cuz he allows guys 6'5" just shoot it right in his face. He's a bum.

Yeah walker and Jaric will come off the bench. Jaric will help Jamal's game big time. Just being in practice with him and talking about the game. Walker could be a nice influence on Chandler too. Walker is a big 3 himself that at his peak was doing 20/10. And just about 5 assists......Walker can help Chandler get better.

I'm hyped about this idea. This is exactly what I want to do for my Knicks. after the Knicks aquire Walker, Darko, jaric and possibly Javaris too, they don't hesitate and just waive Malik, Marbs and Jerome.

I haven't hit the trade checker yet, but check the roster bitches:

Can this team scrap? Can they relate to one another? Is their a proper mix of talent and experience? Is the depth evened out? Are are the crazy people, phonies, and cry babies gone? Hell mutha****in yes!

Oh yeah baby! Do this trade Brother Donnie. Layeth the hands on this roster and annoint them with the powers bestowed upon you by the grace of God. Can I get a witness my brothers and sisters of the UK nation?

I would be very happy with this trade. Personally I don't like Crittenton, but I really don't know too much about him. Randolph for Darko and Jaric is a little low for me but acceptable(I would lie a top 15 or 20 protected, but so be it).
