Anyone that has a problem with this trade doesn't know football. This is a NO risk trade. At worst we give up a 4th rnd pick. At best if we make it to the super bowl we give up a #1 which at that point is like a #2 pick. Pennington sucked-you can't win football games throwing the ball 10 yards a play. This trade makes the Jets a relevant football team .I don't care about the PR move , it makes them a legitimate football team. Every Sunday they have a real QB able to play against any team. This is not a trade of an over-the-hill player, this guy can still play and has a gun for an arm. The only risk is making this move so late towards the season but the Jets had no choice.

This makes us better--more relevant but Super Bowl Contenders will be a question that will have to be answered. Defense always wins--and our defense has been shuffled around like a deck of cards. On top of it we dont really have vertical receivers. So it will be a wait and see but any Jet fan has to be very pleased and excited.

We have to wait and see. He hasn't practice yet and he has to get to know the Jets system and get to know his receivers. I hope the offensive line holds up for him considering we threw so much money around

I'm not saying we are super bowl bound just what the specifics of the trade is--anywhere from a #4 rnd pick up to a #1 rnd pick. Ulimately the defense will determine what we do this year. Quoting Lupica "What Favre does is make the Jets a team to watch again and that is enough for now"
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

he's already being released.

I feel bad for him because he is a likeable guy & smart.

But he has the weakest arm of probably any QB in the league right now, and might be up there for all time honors as far as weakest arms.

Chad and Damon can have a throwing contest for the longest distance throw. Both of them throw like girly-mans

I think the Jets are contending for a superbowl!!!!!!

Our Defense this year is going to surprise people, adding an offensive weapon like Favre is going to put us at the top.

Well good to know I apparently know nothing about football, but be that as it may I dont know where you get off saying that a 39 year old isnt over-the-hill, what is he in his prime?

No surprise that the owner pushed this as, once again, this is a media relations play and a financial improvement situation. If Farve plays at all then this instantly becomes a third round pick. Thats well within the range of finding an All-Pro.

Ewing - Orlando Magic
OJ - 49ers
Mays - Mets
Montana - Chiefs
Namath - Rams
Emmitt - Arizona
Clyde - Cavaliers
Jordan - Wizards

The time honored tradition continues. The Jets should concentrate on trying to find the next Farve, rather than this transparent play at grabbing for the back of the page. What a joke.

Oh man, as if I hadn't heard enough about Favre, and now he will be covered by the New York media. Can you say all Brett, all the time.

One silver lining in this is that at least the NY media wont find covering for Farve and turning him into a deity in their job description.

When he throws six interceptions in one game its my hope that the media's only response wont be: "he's just having fun out there!!"

At least now he will hopefully be held accountable.

Laugh at Farve being older than the coach. How embarrassing!

How in gods name is it possible that people can't spell an NFL LEGEND'S name right. FAVRE.

IF Brett can get this team to the Bowl, I don't care if they dedicate a full page to him every day. Man even old, he's better than anything we could've gotten.

When Favre got drafted the comissioner mis-pronounced his name too.

The way I see it, he doesn't have to carry the team, just give us that solid leader and the fear of connecting on long passes we haven't had. It should open up our running game a bit more. It's a total win for the Jets in terms of what he means to the team. The confidence level will be sky high with him here.
