Louis Williams recently re-signed with the Sixers for 5 years at $25-27 million.

I wouldn't have minded Arroyo, but really Duhon is a better defender. To me the fact that Arroyo is now going to be out of the league and his own team was bidding on Duhon is not a good sign.

Gallo is a kid and I think it's premature to assume that he can't grow into the PF position. The doctors believe he'll grow more and we all know he's likely to gain strength as he move along and matures. You can't look at what he is at 19/20 years old and not look at what he's likely to become down the road. If Dallas had done that with Dirk they would've missed out on a great player.

As expected. He's their future and they have a nice stop gap in front of him in andre miller.

Comparing duhon to louis? Hmmm. Who's better? I'm not a fan of Louis Williams....I think Nate I better.

Nate is better Eny, however everyone won't agree because he plays for the Knicks. If Nate was on any other team he would recieve nothing but praise.

The smartest thing about the Duhon signing is that he gives us a 6 million dollar expiring contract next season. That should be worth something when packaged with another asset, especially if he inflates his numbers in the D'Antoni system, giving him greater perceived worth.

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

I always say if nate was on another team.....chances are he would already be a star.

Thing with Nate is he needed to be groomed to be a point guard from the start. He has the skills to do it. His size gives him no choice. Brown and Isiah was wrong from letting him play around for 2 years and then isiah was wrong for all his benchings even when Nate was playing good.

Hopefully D'antoni see's more than just a wack ass Barbosa off the bench. I wouldn't mind if Duhon was looked at as a guy they can rely on to be steady while Nate was looked at as the future. I don't think that's the case......we'll have to see.

Arroyo blows. Do you really want a PG who's made his way into 3 consecutive coaches' dog house? The guy doesn't play with discipline.

yeah he's obviously got his shortcomings, as does Duhon... Arroyo is IMO a better offensive PG than Duhon is, much better in fact... Duhon plays defense which was a major need for us so i'm fine w/his signing... plus like i said the 2 years was key... Arroyo is more exciting to watch & i think woulda been a good fit for this system... i'm fine w/Duhon tho, so don't get the impression i'm killing Walsh for signing him.

If they had signed Arroyo, we would have ripped walsh for signing players that don't play defense.

But, honestly, Duhon is a stop gap filler. And Arroyo is a much better shooter, which is what got Balkman 'released'.

I'm sure Arroyo would have taken a 2 year, $6mm deal- perhaps with a team option for a third.

yeah, i've always said it doesn't make much of a difference either way... i don't get people who are upset w/the Duhon signing either... i was advocating Arroyo but Duhon was another guy i felt woulda been a good MLE type signing along w/Sasha Vujacic.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.
