Eny, i still think that Jason Williams would have been better at running the team in an uptempo style. He demonstrated control under Pat Riley to run a disciplined offense and they won a championship for it.

He also had those Dwyane Wade and Shaq guys along with Posey to help on the perimeter.

Jason williams isn't the same hot shot he was in sactown. He's been through the rigors. He's an older vet that's been coached by some of the greats in the sport. He woulda been a decent option. It also woulda said....ok "d'antoni is looking to run". With duhon it just seems like their being safe.

does he play defense? No. Is he gonna get hurt? Yes. Because of his age and knees, would he show up at practice every day? Probably not. Is he still hungry? Probably not.

But why? How is signing Duhon safe? If anything, it's a gamble because we really have no idea how he will turn out. He never ran this offense and never got a fair shot in Chicago to show what he has. I think signing J-Will would be the "safe" move because we know what we are getting (a run down PG), even though it wouldn't be safe at all.

Duhon is safer than J Will in many ways. He's younger. He will defend, He will play low TO basketball and run the play the coach calls. Besides I think he has a great shot at being a much more productive player under Mike than J Will.

I believe Duhon will at least have a shot to do more positive things than J Will would from an overall game perspective. More asts, keeping the ball moving and setting up the right people. Playing solid D and not just being a turnstile like we've had in the past. I think Mike D got a good scouting report on Duhon's BB IQ from Coach K. More than anything this may have helped make up Mike and Walsh's minds.

What do we need a broken down PG who will be out of this league in less than 2 years? Find someone who is 20-23 who can build for the future or just stand pat.

doing that might put our 35 win season in jeopardy. We might only win 29 or even less if we went with some young, undiscovered PG.

And I guarantee that DoDo will be on Page Six giving some heifer from Long Island a lapdance in Chelsea while wearing a douchebag t-shirt while Marbury makes it rain on him.
I don't like to play bad rookies , I like to play good rookies - Mike D'Antoni
