I am not surprised that the Knicks are not making any big changes. As a matter of fact this is what I wrote about the Knicks in the first week of July.
If you are expecting blockbuster trades to happen this offseason you might be a little dissappointed. The bottom line is the Knicks can not and will not start trading players left and right. After all isn't that what got Isiah in the big mess that he was in? Isiah made too many trades instead of playing things out. Now you have fans that want Walsh to have an itchy trading finger like Isiah? Why ask for a new general manager if you want the new gm to have a personality of the previous one?

That's a great paragraph. We have been so trained to want a blockbuster deal with every trade. We have no patience for the typical nonsense maneuvering that rebuilding teams do.

There's a great sentence or two there.

Walsh has a reputation around the league for waiting.....until it's too late.

Where do you get this from? Just write whatever you want and that makes it true? I never heard of this before.

I don't have a problem with beast stating Walsh deliberates on his moves but "waiting too long, until its too late"--thats just crap.

I wasn't attacking Walsh. Nor was I quoting any articles. I was just stating his reputation among league GMs.

I know we're all still in love with Walsh because he's new, it was the same way when Isiah arrived, but you guys dont need to be so sensitive.

nothing wrong w/questioning the logic behind individual moves... no one's losing any sleep over the fact we lost Balkman, trust me... we just wanna see a logical reason behind it.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

I think you are being rationale and some others are as well. But there are clearly some on the site who are pulling their hair out over every Anthony Roberson signing. I stand by my words. You can critique any trade, but I think if you are critiquing these trades in a vaccuum than you are off the mark. That's my opinion.

BBall Jones: Shutup
I just hope that people will like me

Okay. (That last sentence was a doozy, by the way.)

I have a hard time believing Walsh is gonna get any good deals come august sept or by oct.

The same thing we gave up for randolph is the same kind of junk we are gonna receive in return.

Unless we are getting back less the z-bo's value as a 20-10 guy.

Walsh is trying to play hardball and I don't blame him, but the only way we get back a better deal is if David "the don" Stern steps in and wave his corrupted wand... and I don't see that happening.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

If you want to move a large contract like Randolph and get cap relief you're going to have to take the hit in terms of the talent coming back to your team.

If Walsh does manange to trade Randolph, people are going to be upset with what we get back. It'll be lesser players, maybe a 2nd round pick. And most of you will refuse to see the big picture.

On the contrary, seems like most people were upset that Walsh didn't take a 2nd round pick and held out for more.

I wasn't a huge fan of Randolph for a second, but I was a huge fan of Randolph for a second and a massive trade exception.

I think Walsh wants to avoid the Pau Gasol type deal where people feel that he was given up for far too little and it comes back to bite you. There's truly no rush to make a move. This thing is gonna take a lot more work to get to where we want to be and we've got 2 years before we need the cap space for the big "FA Migration". It's a good move to be patient under the circumstances, even tho fans will be itching to see a move made rather than see pretty much the same group go out on the floor again.

Zach Randolph and Pau Gasol don't belong in the same sentence unless they are being compared as opposites!!!!!!

The only thing anyone is going to blast Walsh for is if we trade Zach and get worse garbage with longer contracts.

Now some of us prefer Curry be traded- I am ok with that. But if we had had a chance to dump zach for basically nothing, we should have exploited that opportunity.
