Thabeet is an intriguing fellow, but pretty raw at this point. Can't teach height, though. Wonder what D'Antoni thinks of him, because you would think that the Knicks might have a shot at him in next year's draft. As someone pointed out, though, you have to worry about his ability to rebound. He also seems to have problems with assists/passing, and on a D'Antoni team, that won't do. Consistent jump shot might be a problem, too.

However, I look at this thread as a backdoor attack (Albeit a creative one-without even a mention of the G name!) on the Knicks' choice of Gallinari, by someone who is still trying to search for reasons why the Knicks should have Randolph, and not Gallinari, on their team.

Randolph is a decent prospect, but for this team a guy like Gallo is IMO a better prospect. He has all the tools and an understanding of the game as it will be played under Mike. We do indeed need an athletic shotblocking forward, but clearly the Knicks and 13 other teams didn't see him as a lock to be a defensive impact player at the NBA level. Not that any prospect after the top tier is a lock, but they felt stronger about Gallo.

Save the conspiracy theory. I just believe in defense as the foundation of any sport team.
