And oh yeah.. this is exactly the reason that Donnie is holding onto Zach. If Sacramento can get an expiring contract and a 1st round selection for Ron Artest (who is the epitome of malcontent and badboy) in the NBA, then I am damn sure that Zach can fetch the same package.

artest has 1 year left at about $8 mil. zach has 3 years at $48 mil.

My point was that GM's take risks all the time and Artest is a bigger risk than Zach is, considering his on AND off court history.

GM's are stupid and Zach will be moved for more than peanuts, I guarantee it.

Edited to not sound snitty. Fucking annoyed, we just lost our basketball game to this team full of ****ing douchebags. We were up by 8 with about 10 minutes left too. UGGGGGGGGGGGGH.

I know its a pipe dream but:

ZBo gone (first and foremost)

PG: Duhon, backup TBD (not Marbury)
SG: JCraw, Nate
SF: TMac, Gallinari
PF: Lee, Chandler
C: Curry, Miller (who I can see making the team)

Oh please like Houston is going to be a team to be reckon with. DOnt think so..

Dude, are you serious? They just added possibly the best defensive player in the league, who is also a 20 ppg scorer and great passer, to a team that won 23(?) games ina a row last year, that has Yao Ming in his prime, and McGrady playing well.

Adelman is an excellent offensive coach and he gets his players' respect. Houston is not to be played around with.

On the flipside, Bobby Jackson and Donte Green for Artest? What the F___?!

oohah

yeah a player that's also a major headache, nightmare, pain in the rear and a total distraction. Jeremy shockey of basketball

Wow, they're really in win now mode. I'm not sure T-Mac and Artest will work out well on offense but it's a worthwhile gamble if you're in win now mode.

I don't see TMac, Artest co-existing, let alone those 2 + Battier.

Jeremy Shockey is nowhere near as good as Artest.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

u sure about that? Shockey was rookie of the year & made the Pro Bowl 4 times in his first 5 seasons & hasn't ever choked his coach either.

Jeremy Shockey does not care about winning. Aretest may be stupider, and that is what has kept him from being an all-star 4 times like Shockey. But watch Artest play any game. He has desire. He wants to win.

u seriously don't think Shockey wants to win when he plays games? he's 1 of the hardest competitors out on the field... yeah he's a loudmouth & he's a prick, but he doesn't dog it like Randy Moss & he's not a mentally unstable individual like Ronnie boy... i think Artest is a great player but so is Shockey.

Jeremy Shockey absolutely wants to win games. He just has the IQ of a snail.

Back to this trade, fantastic move for the Rockets.

I think Shockey "wants it" very much, but strictly for himself. I would compare Shockey more to Marbury.

Artest really wants his team to win, but he is crazy. However, just as a player, it is hard to compare because of different sports, but I would give a big edge to Artest, who is a great all-around player -- he's pretty much very good to excellent at everything. Shockey is dominant at a portion of the game, which is the nature of football, and it is very important portion, but he can't pick up the team and make it better the way Artest did when he came back to Sacramento last year.

You can't take Ron Artest off the Giants and win the Superbowl.

Explain to me why Shockey appeared to be disinterested when they video taped him during the Superbowl. Peyton Manning was more into the game by a factor of 1,000.

come on bro... u think Artest would be into the games if he's on the DL for most of the season?

Yeah, because him drinking ****tails during the super bowl somehow negates the fact that he played harder and with more passion than virtually anyone out on the football field for the last 6 years. The guy is basically an overgrown child. If you read any of his statements post the trade, its quite obvious he was jealous that the team was winning the title and he was basically left out. He wanted to be a part of it but couldn't and he basically acted like a baby as a result. But don't mistake lack of maturity for lack of desire. What you said before was flat out wrong.
