Just another example of Isiah being super overated at drafting, and the fans not seeing what he saw.....

So his two first round picks that everyone thought were fringe nba players, are now fighting to make rosters.

You must have missed the part where the Nuggets are acquiring Balkman for defense.

Honestly you guys underrate Balkman. He is a good NBA player and we gave him away just because he couldn't hit a jumpshot. He is the best defender on our team. He will fill Najera's void in Denver. I can see him having some highlight throwdowns in their uptempo offense.

What about the part where the dealt their only defense for a 2nd rounder?

I bet they think that Balkman can be their Reggie Evans. The Camby deal was a horrible salary dump as Melo already stated and isn't happy about.

he wasn't given away because he couldn't hit a jumpshot, he was given away cause he didn't work on his jumpshot, partied too much, didn't have good practice habits, was a poor on-the-court decision maker and because Chandler, JJSkinny, Gallo all can play the 3.

Yeah, Melo is gonna be thrilled to hear about the great Balkman joining him in Denver! It's going to make him forget all about that scrub Camby.

and so we trade for Duhon who was caught out at 4am as much as anyone in the league--and raised him up to 6mm$

i don't like this trade. i don't know why you don't at least see what Balkman can do under D'Antoni before trading him. he never had any real coaching and has displayed ball-handling and passing skills if not a good jumper.

sigh. if the zach to the clippers deal was true and donnie passed on it and now he's traded one of our only players who seemed to care last year for a second round pick, i'm officially a little worried about the donnie era.

i hope we at least take a look at Green at PG.

I have to believe that this trade is part of something bigger to come, but we don't know, maybe Donnie is stockpiling picks at the moment.

a 2nd round pick can be bought for a couple of hundred thousand, i don't think anything bigger is coming out of this move. they probably don't like balkman, didn't want him here so they wanted to make sure they got something for him.

the knicks will never be the same after this move. now there's only 2 white guys left on this team...but come to think of it, isn't bobby jones white?

How do you know Balkman cared? I think Martin summed it up pretty well.

Amen! Partied too much? Duhon parties way more than Balkman. I never saw an article devoted on why Balkman should Party less. Didnt have god practice habits? Are you a ****in assistant coach? Sure his jumpshot didnt get better but he improved on his ballhandling and passing. I rather Balkman than Jared Jeffries anyday and twice on Sundays. I can understand Chandler and Gallo over Balk, but Jeffries sucks homeboy. He should be the next one traded bc his jumpshot and decision making might be worse than Balk. Bingo!

LOL, the Knicks get rid of their best shotblocker.

Thats like leaving a party with Rosie O'Donnel(some fat ugly chick) because she was the only girl left. No thanks I'm not that desperate.
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

I think we may regret this one. Balkman I thought could be a very good fit on an uptempo team. He must have really turned them off with his work ethic. I thought he was well on his way to good things after his rookie year and he showed flashes last year. Actually he basically led us to an early season win vs. Denver with his energy and D.

A 2010 no.2 is ok I guess...I wish we could've gotten more. Taurean Green may have some use. He's a little bit like Duhon. He can hit the 3, distributes and plays pressure D. We seem to be collecting Florida guys around David Lee.

Bobby Jones was actually considered the best perimeter defender in 2006 draft by draftexpress.
