Was D'Antoni not coaching the Suns the year before the Marbury trade where they won about 45 games?

You hear that Eny? That came from Kobe Bryant. Fun is the key word.

Ok I'm confused to why you're mentioning me here.

Um just messing with ya dude!

d'antoni is also kobe's favorite player of all time, that's why he wore #8 (d'antoni's # in italy).

I read that too, but in a subsequent article Kobe denied the #8 link to d'antoni.

Huh, that's interesting. Because just before D'Antoni was signed here, I did a little research on him and I saw the same thing in another article several months ago about him taking #8 in 'honor' of D'Anotoni.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Marbury is gonna hate this system. He needs 7 seconds just to plod the ball across the timeline. Then another 16 seconds to dribble around at the top of the key before getting his own layup blocked.

Where, oh where, will Steph find his joy?

Expect him to turn it over a lot more under that system also. What a dweeb!

How is the Dantoni system when Steve Nash is not playing?

Denver 1999 14-36
Suns without Nash 34-76

So while he had tremendous success during the regular season--having the two time mVP seemed to be the pure conduit as Dantoni is a pure lottery coach otherwise as proven.

"dumphelreller%^$#*^&%$^%'!!! (almost choking on my drink)

If we can get 34 wins this next season, that would be a huge upgrade.
I'll never trust this' team again.

This is why I created the 'High Shooting Percentage, At Least Some D, Is What's Going To Make A D'Antoni Type Team' thread, which I just pulled up again.

If you look at it closely, you will see that it wasn't necessarily just Nash that made the Suns a success.
I'll never trust this' team again.

This is the article I remember.

Kobe Bryant expressed his "love" for new KnicksNew York Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni but debunked a myth that he broke into the NBA wearing No. 8 in honor of the former Italian star.

It's been widely reported Bryant wore No. 8 most of his career in honor of D'Antoni, whom Bryant grew up watching in Italy. Bryant switched to "24" two years ago.

"I wore 8 for something different," Bryant told The Post. "I love Mike. Mike's my man, but it had nothing to do with him. It's a myth, but I love him though."

Huh, actually I do remember this one also. I wonder what the other reason was? Well hey, at least he loves D'Antoni. Now I can walk away with a smile on my face. Thanks.

Briggs- just because we don't have the personnel that fit in D'Antoni's system, should we instead go with a dumbed down offense?

I mean, that is pretty much what Isiah ran last year - dribble and shoot! Because face it, most of our guys ain't the brightest stars in sky.

I'd rather have a coach that challenges our players to be smart- the ones that can get it will do well. We'll find out about Crawford, for sure.

Sink or Swim!

We've got to stop babying them and not asking for more from our players. I think most complained about Isiah making excuses.

The excuses are gone!
