D'Antoni is gonna do what I thought Larry was gonna do. Bring back New York Knicks Basketball. The kind that was played for Red. Team ball where the open man can always hit the shot.

I loved reading that. That quote, to me, was step 1.

Yeah I agree.

I honestly think all this is geared towards pumping up Zach's value. I see Zach averaging 23pts and 12rebs and the Knicks will get something decent in return for him at some point before the trade deadline this year. Zach will be on his absolute best behavior this year so he can get out.

If Zach puts up 23points/12 bouards and the Knicks get better if I will personally slap Walsh if they trade him.
sign and trade for Lebron in 2010... arent you paying attention?

Somehow people are missing the whole idea. The plan is to not only get cap space but make this a place where any FA will want to play if the money is even and they have a choice to go somewhere else or here. For one thing if Mike can get this team playing well and having fun like we hope, that will only increase the desire for other players to want to play here if the money is equal. So we'd have an edge against a team where they might not be as excited to play for their coach and system.

This is why you'd look to keep a Zach around if he buys in. But you still will look to move his or someones salary in time for the 2010 FA market. Curry may end up being the guy who get's moved or it may be Jamal. In either case the goal remains the same. We still want to field a team that can win games and play exciting ball.

Yea because Clev would seriously consider a sign and trade for Lebron so are you paying attention? If Zach is beasting Lebron is coming here to play alongside better teammates not to just have crappy teammates in a new uniform.

we have scorers. Crawford, Zach, Eddy, Gallo, Chandler and Nate are all guys that can put the ball in the basket. I am very curious and excited to see what the best offensive coach comes up with for this group and what it looks like in Nov

Fish with the names mentioned above what will make this team perform when they didn't for LB ?

I can see players having issues with each other, when somebody else is shooting too much and not making shots and then on top of that not playing any defense and the team continues to lose.

What will Dantoni do differently with this same group of guys adding roberson and "the gall" + letting chandler play more.

Winning is contagious and makes passing the rock easy, but losing with the coach giving you a green light can be detrimental to a cultural change.

Is everyone convinced that Dantoni is that much of a difference this coming season with the knicks players to change the culture?

LB was a HOF coach and he couldn't change the culture.

REMEMBER YOU CAN'T TRADE REBELLIOUS PLAYERS THAT NOBODY IS WILLING TO TRADE FOR- ASK LARRY.

Can we say the knicks could average 105 pts a game , but not many W's.
for starters Larry asked them to do things they were not good at.. at all. He asked a bunch of scorers to share the ball and play defense. Mike D will ask a bunch of scorers to score.

Also Larry clearly wasnt backed by Isiah and the players quit on him. Watch was happens if someone quits on Mike D... I can be quiet sure that player will be gone very very quickly.

Point well taken fishmike.

What about these?

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Lebron doesn't have interest in the Knicks because he feels we give him the best chance at winning championships. Any interest Lebron has in the Knicks is because his contract with nike basically doubles.

When talking about players comming to the Knicks, winning is allways a distant second to how much money star players can earn.

Its allways about the money.

The thing is that when money is even, then you can factor in the teams title contender status, coach and the style of play. Players want to play for D'Antoni. I think this team will play better mainly cuz it really can't be worse than it was. It's bound to come together under a better coach and with a GM who is looking for a better mix of players that will complement each other and the coach.

You have to know that Waltoni will do whatever is needed to change the roster to one that will work much better than it has in the past. no Jerome James and less of the guys who just can't play in this system. For a change the guys that should play, will play.

18 & 10, 34 wins max this year if the Knicks don't trade Zach IMO.
