Chandler moves around really smoothly, kinda like Jalen Rose, but he has more bulk and explosive athletcism. But he has that unassuming, smooth manner out there IMO. He really does a little bit of everything. Every once in a while he just does something really explosive and you wonder, where did that come from?

Good observation VD. I was trying to figure out who he reminds me of.....Jalen Rose is exactly it. Just more bulkier and explosive like you say.....also way better defensively.

His smooth manner reminds me of alex english. Maybe even herb....though I never saw him play at the level his stats suggest he did in Indiana.

I've just seen the first half so far (tivo'd it), but man you have to be really impressed with the level of activity of Wilson Chandler. The man is coming over and challenging shots, using his leaping ability, making moves off the dribble...really the guy has just an outstanding workrate out there.

I don't think Gallo was as bad as some suggested in the first half. Clearly he had some nerves but he knows what he's doing out there. And he knows what he wants to do when he puts the ball on the floor and he has some creativity to his game. He had a couple rim out and he was over a second late to help a couple times, but he was almost there. Gallo seems like a lot more of a fluid athlete than Bargnani or Tskita or Lampe. Seems like more of a natural athlete out there. Definitely a ringer for Kukoc without the same amount of bulk. He can certainly pass. He does need to get a bit thicker.

Balkman didn't get a lot of props, but he was challenging shots and getting in there. It wasn't a huge game by him, but he does contribute out there.

Collins' shot and defense looked good. People are too quick to release this guy. He played with some good strength out there. He might not be a star, but he can play a little. Give him some more time.

Roberson needs to play within himself more. He's 6'2 180, not lightning fast and never really once looked to pass the ball. He can shoot, but he's gotta have a little bit more discipline and maybe show some PG tendencies. He has the skill to play in the NBA, but he's gotta be a bit smarter out there.

So Marion......is Chandler really like Marion? Does he really resemble the dude? Marion is the Matrix cuz of how psychotic he looks moving around. He is crazy quick. Like insane serial killer quick. He gets up off the ground high and quick as well.

Chandler doesn't really seem quick to me. I haven't see this damn game yet, but I'm working on that.

He strikes me as a more of an explosively strong player. Like artest, just with a different body type. Maybe Tim Thomas the way he should have been? Lamar odom in the Miami years? Larry Nance maybe?

CHandler is not as quick as MArion. He is more like Richard Jefferson with slightly more athleticism. He can block shots though and play defense. I would call him Marion-lite but with a better looking jumpshot.

Gallo has perfect arc on his jumpshot. If he doesn't end up being a good shooter in the NBA something will have gone horribly wrong.

I mean Gallo would basically have to lose a limb not to be a good shooter. That thing is pure.

Alright just some final thoughts...

There wasn't much clamp down, team D played on either side on this game, so no matter what is said, it has to be viewed in that context.

Gallo certainly had his share of blunders. He's not gonna run in and set the world on fire, but this kid clearly has skills. He has the perfect release, form and arc on his j. And that crossover move really was eyepopping- that's the kind of move that if he has perfected it, will get him to the line a couple of times each game (where he's not gonna miss). And its a move he can go to at the end of the game. That's going to be something to watch.

Mardy Collins really looked strong- like physically strong. He was using strength to his advantage on the drives and was getting in there on rebs. He had a nice game. He finally had some confidence in his J and just put together a good all around game.

The thing that pumps me up about Gallo is that he seems to be an intelligent team player. He seems to look for teammates first. His help D is nice. Today he kept trying even when things got rough on him. Thats great.

The players acquired under Isiah were the opposite. This is a great change because finally, in some time, we will be rooting for a real team and not a bunch of selfish me-first players.

Roberson's a chucker plain and simple yes he can shoot it, but it was all about getting his shot off. We don"t need that anymore. The Mayor's in the building got a little shot happy, Gallo showed perseverance when his shot wasn't falling. Balkster is Balkster a Rodman clone D and boarding that's what he does. Mardy looked healthy, Q looked weird and Begonebury looked crazy.

The player I thought The Mayor resembled more was Scottie Pippen. He is not quick but long and strong with good athleticism. He can defend and get up and down the court.

Yeah, Gallo looked really intelligent from what I saw. One play, in particular, was when he ran a high pick with Mardy, got the ball, and subtly spun around in order to bump and slow Mardy's player down. It didnt' come to anything (well, he did sink a 20 footer), but that's a deep understanding of the game.

Wilson Chandler had a monster game. Almost looked like he didnt belong on this summer league team. Played well on both ends of the court. Very Marionesque. His jumpshot was consistent and his handle is vastly improved (however still needs improvement). Might be able to start next year.

Danillo Galinari seemed like he didn't belong in the NBA in the first half, but towards the end of the second quarter he showed promise. He has good form on his J even though he didnt hit a 3, you can see he is a shooter. He also has good handles. The CROSSOVER was the same crossover God Shamgod (Youtube him) used to do in college. Gallo showed great hustle must his overall defense was mediocre at best. He isn't as strong as people claim he is. Was pushed around down low on defense and when he was driving 9 even though I thought he got fouled alot). Probably won't start next year but he has upside.

Balkman was Balkman. He showed a slightly improved handle but overall the same player.

Mardy Collins was the most complete player in my eyes. He was all over the place. He picked up the passing duties because Roberson's passing skills are quite limited. Mardy definately impressed today. He lost weight and gained some quickness and hops ( almost made a monster slam on two defenders from the dotted line). His progression might give Nate some thing to worry about.

If the New York Knicks are the Eastern Conference PHX then Roberson is a poor man's Leandro Barbosa. He doesn't have Barbosa's speed or handle but he can shoot the **** out of the ball. Might make the team for instant offense but we have Nate and Nate is better.

I was looking for more from Delonte Holland. Within 10 seconds of being put into the game he hit a 20 ft jumpshot. Too bad that was his only shot. I tried to focus on his defense but he wasnt in the game long enough.

Von Wafer wasn't that great either.

Everyone else didn't get enough playing time to judge.

Scary, but I pretty much put up the same post in another thread on this forum, so I will readily say that your analysis was dead on.

I think Gallinari's D was better than mediocre, though, perhaps because I did not know what to expect. He really needs some lower body strength. Took him awhile to get his shooting confidence, but when his shot came around it was a thing of beauty to watch.

You were dead on with Chandler and Mardy. I think that Chandler might be starting by the end of the year though, or at least getting starter's minutes. Mardy looked great. I call him a poor man's Andre Miller (When playing with confidence.). This was better than he played at the end of his rookie season, especially his shooting touch. If he is brough along the right way by D'Antoni, he can be an excellent backup PG.

Balkman WAS Balkman, and I wonder if that is enough on this team. NO improvement on his shot. A dependable jumper would make him invaluable.

Roberson can shoot, but he really does seem like another Nate, although he doesn't have Nate's driving abilities. No assists in 30 minutes??!!

I think Holland is a guy who needs to be handling the ball to be effective.

Very positive game for at least 3 of the people we are counting on, and Roberson is someone who will probably get a call to training camp, I would think.

i think Chandler reminds me of Al Harrington before he fell in love w/the 3 pointer.

he does look like a different guy... not sure yet if it's just the bald head or his game, but he looks like he's ready to play this year & doesn't have that deer in the headlights look to him, at least in the first game... things can obviously change w/a bad performance... we'll see i guess... i hope he can at least become a useful role player for us... i sorta like the guy & his unassuming personality.

I think Mardy was really hurt last year and was not physically able to improve on his rookie season. Now that he is heathy, the only thing holding him back is his jumper, which looks improved. We should definitely buyot or trade Marbury before the season starts and go with Duhon, Nate, and Collins as our pgs. Marbury is just really crazy and these young kids don't need to be exposed to him any longer.
