The Answer Man Lists The Mayor At A Lean and Mean 6'8.5

babyKnicks - 3 more questions need answering (marbs, curry, zach).

C'mon, a tatoo on ones dome is never a good idea. Marbury is bought out with Dolan's petty cash stash and is hired by Steve&Barry's Outlet in Douglassville, Georgia as a greeter.

Curry loses his starting role in the pre season and his late December minutes drop to an average of 15 per game as the Knicks run and fun offense takes shape.

Zach Randolph grades nearly as poor as Marbury on the entrance interviews in Las Vegas. Check your local NBA transaction listings.

The Answer Man Knows That Knicks Fans Are Everywhere

Q. pharzeone - Hey, you know where Lithia Springs is located?

A. Not exactly, but I know they were having a halfway decent high school football season before taking three straight on the chin versus Alexander, Douglas County and a very tough East Paulding team out of Dallas, Ga.

"Wilson Chandler is scraping paint off the ceiling. He had one ridiculous dunk on poor Paul Miller that started around the box with the ball way behind Will's head. Windmilled it through in traffic."

"As to his skill level, again, he has the chance to be a solid bench player for us in the future. I'm not looking at him as a future Tayshaun Prince or Ron Artest mold ya know?"

Cos - what I find most intruguing about The Mayor is his potential to adapt to the offensive system which will be installed by D'Antoni. His potential is not measured by random or aribitrary comparisons to NBA veterans, or any personal bias. That potential is measured in a critical look at his skill-set now... and his unique and diverse skill-set as it evolves with the experience facing NBA talent.

No one, and I do mean NO ONE knows what type of learning curve Chandler will chart. By his the time he reaches 25, in his fifth season, he might inspire comparisions to Bobby Dandridge as easily as he could be working for the Boys and Girls Club. The variables are too precise and sometimes too random to forecast.

I will offer that his productivity is less a factor of opinion, and more the by-product of how hard he is is willing to work over the next three months.

Nope, none of us know his true ceiling. I've always stuck with a phrase that I think is dead on regarding NBA talent: If they don't break out in their 3rd year chances are they already are what they are.

So...Chandler has some time. My expectations are not high however so if he does do more that what I think he can I guess it'll be a pleasant surprise.

I'm not expecting a star, or a solid dependable starter on a good to great team, but probably a solid rotation player down the road. His book is not yet written so we'll see and he's got some time to show us what he can do.

Cosmic - three years?

Perhaps, but a few players like Chet Walker, Bill Laimbeer, Lonnie Shelton, Chauncey Billups, Doug Christie and Gilbert Arenas might beg to differ.

Expectations. projections, comparisions, ceilings, scouting reports and "separated at birth" photos do not a basketball player make.

The Mayor has mojo.

Yes. It's a very good benchmark to see if a player is going to be a star or not. If they're not showing it in their third year chances are they'll never be one.

It's a comment I've heard more than once...from analysts to scouts to coaches and more.

By the conclusion of the third season you've got a pretty solid idea of what a player is and will be.

Big time players show it from the start. Stars show it anywhere from the start into their second and third years - also known as break out seasons.

You don't have a Mardy Collins for years 1-3 and end up with a Gilbert Arenas for years 6-9. By year three you already know you have a Mardy Collins and you hope by year 6 you have a more mature and savvy Mardy Collins - but you're never going to have a Gilbert Arenas.

Same deal here. By year three you're going to know what you have and just expect it to be a more mature and savvy version as time goes on as is the case with nearly all veteran players.

Once they get to learn each others tendencies, The Mayor and Gallinari will be fun to watch.

TMS - perfect. The next time Marc Berman calls Danilo the un-original and presumptive "Italian Stallion" I'm gonna puke.

Did You Say Yoots?

For all of the needless kvetching and gnashing of teeth over each and every blemish in a Summer League game where players are SUPPOSED to experiment and learn, I dug the fact the Knicks have two big men who have respectable and unselfish ball-handling skills. Nate Archibald? Nah. Dean Meminger? Hardly. I'm talking point forward skillz in the noble tradition of Anthony Mason.

The Mayor and The Consigliere can both advance the ball against token pressure.

Add the unselfish Chris Duhon to the flammable Jamal Crawford and the Knicks can get to work on hitting then open man.

too bad Mardy didn't hit that monster dunk in the closing seconds so we could post it up & proclaim him the next Michael Jordan.

The originality of dubbing Gallo "The Itallion Stallion" is just awful and terrifying.

From Realgm from Hahn's Blog
By the looks of it, this may only be the beginning for Isiah Thomas’ final draft pick, who is brimming with confidence. “I don’t wonder if I’m going to play a lot because [D’Antoni] tells me he’s going to let me play and he talks to me a lot about it,” Chandler said. “Just keep doing what I’m doing.”

Wait until VC has to defend chandler this yr, it's gonna be a different story at the rim with CHANDLER DROPPING THE HAMMER ON HIM.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.
