Clearly the general consensus is that Lee is far more valuable than Redick. But the guy is 6'4 and can flat out shoot. David Lee rebounds but he doesn't do much more than that. Yeah he creates 10 and 10 off the bench, but he is a good player on a ****ty team. I tend to think he has the big fish in a little bowl syndrome. I mean, he is not competing with anyone else on the Knicks for rebounds. I don't mean this as a trash David Lee thread, I just think that this forum overvalues him.

As for Redick, I am not trying to make him into the next Ray Allen. Best scenario would be a Steve Kerr type, someone who can just shoot the ball consistently off the bench. In Orlando he was buried under Turkoglu and Bogans. I am not sure that means that he can't be effective in this kind of offense.

No doubt, I can retract my offer of Lee, but I think some of you are completely overvaluing Lee and Balkman. Look at Trevor Ariza. Here, he was the same mold of energy player (although not as good a rebounder and dumber than a rock), but off this team, he is nothing.

People here may overvalue Lee but you undervalue him in this scenario. Greatly undervalue him.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Tyson Chandler is good why? You put Lee with Chris Paul he averages 18pts 11rbs, you put him with any decent pg that knows how to run an offense he is above 15pts and doing it at 55%. I don't understand which games people are watching....

Mardy for JJ is a fair trade for both teams, orlando doesn't play him, he isn't in the rotation and there offense is predicated on surrounding Howard with shooters, so the guy has little to no value, why anyone would offer our best player and he is our best player, don't give me Zach, is beyond me.

First, do you think that speaks well of Tyson Chandler or Chris Paul. Chris Paul is a stud and would be the top player I would go after (except that he just signed that extension). Second, David Lee is pretty damn close to a Troy Murphy clone (except undersized). I would expect that on a more productive team, his productivity will decrease. Third, Mardy Collins is not nearly the player the JJ is. You cannot gauge JJs value by the existence of Michael Pietrus, Keith Bogans, and Hedo Turkoglu... Mardy is sitting behind Marbury (ok...maybe not), Duhon, and Nate Robinson. Also, JJ has a far better pedigree than Mardy, coming from Coach K's system and winning the scoring title.

JJ Redick is trash.

seriously, why would u even consider a trade like this? even if ORL threw in an unprotected 1st round pick i would have to think hard about it (that pick would likely be late round as it is)

Ha! Ha! Nice joke. No one would honestly trade Lee for Reddick. You would be trading big for small (almost always a bad idea) and we would be giving up the best player in the deal. Now, if we are talking about Turk and Reddick, then we can talk.

Balkman for Reddick works wonders for both teams. Its a straight up 1 for 1 scrub trade. A so called hustle player for a so called shooter. I personally hate Balkman as it is, Chandler better step in summer league.
