We are so far in the hole that I don't really care where the players we trade/cut end up or how they do. We have to do what it takes to get out of our hole

a man digs a hole 3 feet wide, 4 feet long and 6 feet deep. how much dirt is in the hole?

Are you counting the dirt on the sides and bottom of the hole?

WHy would he go to boston to back-up Rondo?

He's not another old, broken down sam cassell.

to not mess up established chemistry and play for a ring.
I think he goes to Miami to play alongside wade, marion and beasley once he's released from the Knicks.

why leave 1 rebuild to go to another in miami?

the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

None. You had to take the dirt out to make the hole.

Thats the whole gig. If the Knicks wave Marbury---he goes to Boston Cleve Miami--he ends up hurting the Knicks--Marbury is the kind of player ANY of the top tier teams would love to have on the cheap.

how does Marbury going to BOS hurt the Knicks? are we competing for any titles next season? i don't get that line of thinking... let him go whereever he wants & let the team who's dumb enough to take him deal w/all of his issues... getting rid of him helps the Knicks move forward & allows guys to finally stop being distracted w/his constant malignant presence.

Pierce To Knicks: Dump Marbury
More Knicks News

Jul 11, 2008 4:18 AM EST
Celtics star Paul Pierce believes that the New York Knicks needs to part ways with guard Stephon Marbury before they can truly start to get better, the New York Daily News are reporting.

"He makes the biggest contract and he's one of the oldest players on the team," Pierce said yesterday. "That doesn't really fit into a rebuilding plan, just to be honest."

"I'd try to trade him or buy him out at this point," added Pierce, who still believes Marbury can be a starting point guard in the NBA. "I just think he needs a fresh start somewhere else. Marbury needs to be on a veteran team where he fits into what they're trying to do a little bit more."

Let the contract run out. It's that simple. It will help us free up other money in the very near future. Same with Malik. Just let them run out.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Obviously, he is trying to influence the Knicks to cut Marbury so Boston can go after him. What player makes those type of comments about another player unless they have an ulterior motive.

Precisely! Why would Walsh be as stupid as isiah-diot to do something like that, so someone else could pick him up? That's crazy!

........ suckbury couldn't force a shot with the basketball.
I'll never trust this' team again.

God forbid Marbury ever dons another uniform... that would be horrible.

if marbury is going to be picked up by these teams the knicks should try to work out some sort of compensation for him - maybe one of those under the table deals for the knicks to cut him if boston or whoever trades us a pick for small cash considerations. no point in cutting him since we have to pay his salary anyway, we can tell him to stay home like the blazers did to francis.
also i wouldn't be opposed to trading him to GS as an expiring for al harrington - now that they have maggette, randolph, wright, and biedrins, they don't have much use for harrington (who expires in 2010 anyway), but he is an athletic 28 year old big that can shoot and would probably fit in well with d'antoni's system.

Guys, we're talking about Stephon Garbagebury. If we can get rid of him, it improves the culture of this team. Who cares if it helps some team for 2-3 years? We're not going to be good for at least that long.

If you want Marbury anywhere but here gimme a HELL YEAH!

HELL YEAH!
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

If Larry Brown wasn't allowed to trade any of Isiah's players why should D'Antoni?

This is Isiah's team's first year under Mike, shouldn't he get at least a couple of years to make it it work?

No more sabotage. Everybody stays.

I'm with Blueseats on this. Isiah's team deserves more time to show what they're capable of.

Wow. I have to disagree with that sentiment. I think there are some top teams the would take a chance on him - but I really don't thing "ANY" top tier team would. His bad history in the locker room will make teams hesitate.
The guy has outstanding talent and there's no way he aged as much as he looked like he did last year in just one year. A couple mil is just pocket change to the Celtics and when a healthy Bynum comes back, the Cs are gonna need a lot of improvement anywhere they can get it. They can't stick with Cassell and Eddy House as the backup PGs, and I actually still don't think Rondo is a 36 mpg championship calibre PG. Just getting a PG who is a legit scoring threat AND can bring the ball up court would be a huge addition for them. Teams double off Rondo and teams trap Eddy in the backcourt because he can't dribble. It's the PERFECT scenario for Marbury. I'd hope that for once he wouldn't F things up.

Marbs would start ahead of Rondo..Rondo has no idea how to run a team...Marbs
can still run an offense like Boston...I bet you he would love a shot at doing it too..
