Sprewell should have a better year, ON PAPER...but can his ego mesh with new talent? I say yes. Now that Sprewell is far away from NY as possible, he has more to prove about his game than Houston.

Remember, Houston and Spree are about the same age, both not getting any younger but everybody is commenting how Spree has lost his step due to age, but I have yet heard anyone to say Houston is getting better with age.

Sorry to say, Spree is not like fine wine. All the fans that belived Spree is a natural 2 and should have played the starting role in New York over Houston, but never got the chance, gets revenge with KG and crew......maybe that's what Pike means by NY has ruined Spree. OK Pike, no excuse for Spree......he got the size and the position he always wanted.

And for the love of the game....I hope he returns to the form that has made him one of the game's most exciting NBA players to watch.

That's right Playa, Spree IS lucky...he's on his third and final try

Sprewell was the LEAST selfish player on the Knicks... you and Playa never figured that out.

Mark my words.... Spree's going to kick azz in Minnesota!

I agree, and I hope so, maybe he can win a series or two while he is there, but we can all agree that no matter what he did here in NY, were were going no further with this team as constructed. I look at this trade as a take it or leave it type thing.

Listen if Spree was a true "TEAM PLAYER" he would have come off the bench and produced a spark for the knicks bench against opposing teams second units and would have prolonged his career at SG. He knew NY already had a two guard in Allan Houston, he only did it in 1999 because NY gave him a chance and he came to NYC a humbled man. Now when he started to read his own press clippings all of a sudden he wanted to be in the starting lineup at sf at 6'5 and throw our team into a flawed unstructured starting 5. He was truly unselfish when he first came to NY BUT WHEN HE LEFT.... He was known as MEWELL!
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Then tell me, who the hell would play SF is Spree would have come off the bench? Shandon Anderson? Someone of a LESSER caliber? Or Othella? Our only good candiate for a PF backup or a sixth man? Oh, I know, Travis Knight, the real Great White Hope.

Playa, you are getting so silly its stupid sometimes. Spreewell was told to play the 3. He did what he was told. You can't help the mangement wanting to put him in a starting pos. after the production he gave in the '99 Finals and the pressure the fans gave to do so.

Shameful, Playa, shameful.

C'mon Pike, correct me as needed, if spree was the least selfish player on the Knicks why after the championship run he demanded [through his agent] a starting position?

You think management was going to sell out Allan's position just because the style of ball playing Spree exhibits is closer to NY style compared to Allan's style?

Eventhough spree has never publicly made known his position, his tardiness for practice, showing up whenever, not communicating any sense of urgency after being injured and declining production could have been signals of being dissatisfied in New York.

And if you had an employee with similar circumstances, dismissal would not be a unjust action.

Nevertheless, spree probably welcomed being traded.....Remember, New York gave him his break, and minny should be so lucky.

Yeah....what I can't figure out is why management has been so patient with a popularity contest.
