Lee is a signifcantly better scorer, rebounder, passer shooter etc. The only thing Turiaf is better at is shotblocking and hair.

Yeah. Of course. I think whats going on here is the inverse of homerism. Things become so dire and fans get so sick of losing that they convince themselves that every team and every player on said team is superior to ours.

Turiaf isnt even close to Lee. He's just a body. A complete liability on offense and totally awkward. Actual comedy when he gets the ball.

Are you kidding me??? How is Lee a better scorer than Turiaf??? When is the last time you saw David Lee make a jump shot??? Dont worry I'll wait...When is the last time David Lee got put in the game for defensive purposes??? I'll wait on that one too...As Boston showed the world defense wins chips. And if Lee is a better passer they why does Ronny average more assist. This homerism **** is gay.

How about you look at how many pts each one scores per min and both of their shooting percentages and get back to me. This I don't know to count **** is gay. Seriously Lee may not have a J, but the man can fill a lane, run the floor, finish in traffic and post up a little. I agree that Turiaf is a better defender, but David Lee is one of the most efficient players in the NBA by any measure we've got. Oh and Lee doesn't have a heart issue that nearly threatened his life.

That being said I like Turiaf- but his contract absolutely needs to be looked at as a baseline measure of what Lee should get + some variable amount.

Turiaf has averaged 7,15 & 18mins per game in his 3 seasons.

I would want to see him play 30mins a game before I would come to any conclusions about him being better then Lee.

I also want to see how Lee plays now that he is out of the Isiah Thomas era.

Is funny that in half of Lee's minutes Turiaf has more assists, yet people say Lee has good passing skills, and its even more funny people defending Lee's jumpshot, lol. Anyway, they are just average if not a bit mediocre in both things, is not as if that makes the difference between the two.
My point is I dont care that much about the stats in role/bench players, I just see Turiaf as a way more eficient player for a team and I explained it above. I dont want to use this topic to talk bad about Lee or his weakness, so stop this thing about "inverse of homerism", because I could say you belong to the "constantly overrating David Lee" plague.
If Turiaf can be taken for 4 million $ per year, then Lee is definately NOT worth 8 million $ a year... Oh, well, I forgot we just paid 6 for Duhon (6 for Jeffries, 6 for Jerome, etc)... maybe that should change my mind.

Turiaf is throwing the ball to Kobe and Gasol and Lee throws it to Jamal, Steph.

This has less to do about David Lee and more to do with Turiaf, so dont even put me in that "plague" category.

I've seen Turiaf plenty this past season. Trust me, you're wrong. Turiaf is a poorly skilled, marginal role player. A --- "well were playing the Spurs tonight, but at least we got a six-foul-guy-in Turiaf-for-Duncan-tonight." Thats the extent of his talent.

Chalk up the assist factor in playing with Kobe.

I dont know how this debate is surviving.

His skill level and his minutes per game average are not mutually exclusive. There's a correlation.

Ronny plays with Kobe, Derek, Pau, OhDumb, Sasha, Lukie POoky in the triange. A great team with a great coach who employs a great system. Stick him with Steph, Nate, Craw, Q, ZDumb and Eddy and the man will flat out get lost. Dlee has proven in a no system abilty to rebound, and finish around the basket. Dlee has instincts for the ball that are incredible. Remember the pass he caught and put in with under a second to play?

Ronny is a fine role player with a different skill set. A good foriegn player who spent time in the plantation and got him a nice big contract! Good for him.

As a fan I'd like to see how Dlee plays in D'antoni's system. I believe the kid can shoot when asked, when a play is called. DLee did well on scraps.

Wow now I have heard it all. You would rather have Turiaf than Lee. That's a ****ing disgrace, trying to compare the two is an embarrassment and anyone who did, should be embarrassed at their lack of basketball knowledge.

Lee is a better: passer, more fundamentally sound finisher with both hands around the basket, more efficient scorer and rebounder, doesn't have anyone like Kobe or Lamar in the lineup, is a high percentage player, and runs the floor better and is much more polished in the post and taking his man to the hoop

But Turiaf blocks a shot here and there and appears to be a little tougher which make him a better player.

Just absurd

Yeah, Lee is a mix between Dominique Wilkins and Hakeem. Im so embarrased that Im going to buy a Nets jersey with Kidd's numer.
Come on! Look, to me Lee can do cool dunks when he is free, can rebound very well, is athletic (not to much use honestly) and plays smart most of the time, which is really fine for a MLE role player. Thats it. He aint no good passer (he is decent mainly because he plays smart), he gets blocked once every two attempts of dunking/lay-ups, he plays smaller than he is, he can NOT shoot so far, and he plays no defense. I said I did not want to talk about Lee weaknesses but you went looking for it. I dont have anything else to say. The question is would you have Turiaf for 4 million $ or Lee for 8 million $? I dont have any doubts.

BTW, dont justify the assists in Kobe and Gasol, because it can work the other way. Maybe he does not get more assists because they dont pass him the ball, and Im not even considering he plays a bit more than half of the minutes David Lee plays.

Its ok you like Lee more than Turiaf, just let people think otherwise without "being embarrased".
