I also remember the Knicks first trip to the Finals in '51, when they were defeated by the Rochester Royals 79-75. What a heart breaker.

Got damn how old are you?

My dad and my older brother were Knick fans, and I loved bball even as a tiny kid. Was probably a truly hardcore Knick fan by the time I was 8 years old. When Riley took over as coach was when my Knick memories really go back. I learned how to play basketball by imitating Patrick Ewing. When I was growing up I was taller than most kids so that was a good strategy. I think from that time through college (incidentally when the Knicks started sucking) I missed no more than 10 games total.

Words cannot describe how devastated I was post Charles Smith debacle, Houston Finals loss and Ewing finger roll miss.

Born in NY raised in Harlem during my formative years. The Knicks were all that mattered. I have memories of '73 championship but none really of the '70. All that mattered were Frazier, Monroe, Bradley, Willis & Debusschere.

Before there were dancing girls, there was "Dancing Harry"!

For me it was 1971 when I went to my first game. Knicks-Bullets. Knicks were the defending champs. Later that year Earl took clyde a and went on to lose to the Bucks. Next year Earl arrived! They lost to the Lakers but epic battles to get their. THe next year they broke thru again!

I've been waiting and a wanting since then........

Well, I was 75 years old when I firs started following the knicks, so I guess that makes me about 134 years old.

Grew up watching the NBA on NBC on the weekends. That theme song is burned into my brain.

Mason was probably my favorite player.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Started watching when Clyde first started playing 1n 1967. Basketball was my 3rd sports interest behind the Jets (had been going to games since the Titans) and Mets. Took a long time to understand how special the Frazier, Reed, Bradley, DeBusschere, Barnett, Lucas, Monroe, Jackson, Meminger, Bibby, Cazzie, Rhiordan, etc. teams were in terms of how they played the game. Along with the Celtic Dynasty teams, the Knicks of those days are the most intelligent team in the history of the sport, and it showed on the court and after they had retired as players. If Reed had never been injured, the team would have won at least 4 championships.

That team has forever spoiled me as a Knicks fan because I'd always compare the teams I was watching later on to them.

My Dad took me to a Knicks vs. Celtics game when I was 14 - he got the tickets from a friend of his and I was lucky enough to sit in the 7th row.

Been hooked ever since...

I was always into basketball. When I was 10,I turned on the NBA playoffs, where the Knicks played the Raptors and Spreewell was raining threes. That game was awesome. The next day in the newspaper I read "Threewell" and just became addicted. That was the last winning season I saw for the Knicks. I saw Camby get injured and Van Gundy resign.I was like WTF! Whatever,it's a new era and they'll create a new theme song when we go to the finals, one day.
GO NY!!!

I was growing up in Brooklyn in the '50s. Back then baseball was the biggest sport and with the Dodgers in Brooklyn, I first followed them. But as I began to learn to play basketball, I started watching it too. The players I remember back then were Richie Guerin, Willie Nauls, Nat Sweetwater Clifton and Johnny Green. Guerin was our best player.
