Kaman had his best season as a Clipper last yr. Until Baron's knees started acting up he had the Hornets in the playoffs. Matter of fact Baron's non injury yrs teams he's been on during his 9yr NBA career he's been to the playoffs 6 times I believe and if it wasn't for last yr's tough fluke Western Conference you could count it as good enough season for 7. Baron may not be a champion but he's definitely a winner and brings a team immediate Swagger.

Do the Clips have enough money to sign Elton Brand to a 10 million and upwards contract per year? He was making like 16 last year. I think Baron would have been better in Golden State, that system was awesome for him.

I'm not sure of their actual cap situation but going with the notion Baron got a deal to cover their available cap room the Clips can go over the cap and sign EB to whatever deal they want within CBA parameters. My gut says since Boom-Dizzle did a verbal that means they plan on renouncing Magz, signing EB first at a lower rate per yr but for 6 yrs to provide enough room for BD to get $13mil/yr contract for 5yrs totaling $65mil. Brands cap hold is whatever his opt out figure was until the would renounce him which they won't and haven't, which according to Hoopshype latest cap info would leave them with about $11-12mil of cap room to sign BD. That's why I think EB will take a slight paycut as BD did to sign there to make it work and EB has alluded to the fact he'd be willing to do it.
