I really hope we dont buy out Marbury. I would like to have his contract on the books come Feb. If we could somehow squeeze out 3 quiet months out of him it would give us a great piece in Feb

I don't trust the Knicks with an expiring contract, especially amidst rumors that Gallinari was really Isiah's pick.

there are no rumors. Isiah did go over to Europe to scout. The pick was Mike's and Walsh's.

I believe you misread me. I agree that we know Isiah went over to Europe to scout. The rumors are whether or not Mike really was forced to take Gallinari by powers beyond his control. Potentially tough sell on the rumor, considering the D'Antoni-Gallinari connection, but I'll never put anything past the Knicks organization. The fact that Isiah, an incredibly overrated evaluator of talent and overall horrible human being has any input in the team at all is troubling.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Here's what really went down. First, Larry Brown used his mind-control powers over Isiah to get him to recommend The Rooster. Then Isiah used his mind-control powers over Walsh & D'Antoni to get them to make the pick.

So, you see, LB is really behind it all....

oohah is busy compiling stats for his "Chris Duhon will be an all-star next year: book it!" thread.

Duhon is a solid player - not a top point guard but solid. But not a good shooter for D'Antoni. For a 2 year contract he is fine. I am sure we overpaid so he would accept only the 2 years so we didn't add to the cap in 2010. Duhon helps in the present.

I would have preferred us getting a younger point guard in the draft (like Chalmers)so he could build a future with the team but we didnt. So this is a good fall-back option for us.

Question is .....who gets dopped or traded? We presently have 16 players if you count Fred Jones who I don't believe is under contract. Does Fred get axed? and then 1 more. Who?

Fred's a UFA, I doubt he'll be back. Randoplh Morris is a RFA, don't know that he'll be back. Reports have suggested buyouts may be in the works for Jerome James and Starbury.

with the full MLE going to duhon, only way the knicks can outright sign a free agent is via the LLE (which if they use this season, won't be able to use next season). and a $1 mil vet minimum.

anymore roster changes will have to be via trade.

I would think that Randolf Morris would have some value. He is young and can improve. Perhaps he can run and be part of D'Antoni's system?

So Fred J is probably gone. That is OK. If we buy out both JJ and Marbury, then we have room for 1 more player.

Randolph Morris is not getting re-signed. He is a free agent and will be let go and to answer your question, he does not have any value.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

That's basically the MLE for 2 seasons (11.5 for 2 years). The dollar amount seems a bit high but the contract length is fine with me. Stopgap PG option gives us an opportunity to trade for a young PG or draft one next year.

Duhorn would be a good pick up for the knicks for only 2 yrs. Betcha he does a way better job than the rest of the so called pg clowns ( marbury, crawford, nate r.)

For only possibly half the mid-level, that's great! Walsh is sticking to his comments about 2010.
