I am assuming the sheep comment was directed at tfk and Nalod as I never commented negatively or positively on Gallinari. Unlike some I do not pretend to have knowledge about players that I have not seen play.

I was always clear on who I wanted. I was also clear on who I didnt want. I wanted nothing to do with Bayless, Augestine, Lopez and Gordon. Some around here are in love with 6'2 shooting guards. I am not. I did say as much about Bayless that if Walsh picked him he and DAntoni must have thought enough of him for it to be worth it and I would remain open.

I know nothing about Gallinari, aside from what I have read from those who have scouted him or watched in play and those reports are all glowing.

Based on every draft grade review from every major publication it seems as though we took the BPA.
ESPN, draftexpress, nbadraft.net, yahoo, cnn-si all gave us either an A or a B. Maybe those guys are just riding each other but I have yet to see anywhere from anyone that reviews these things professionally that we did a bad job in this draft.

So to sum up about a player I know very little about:
Scouting reports are very positive
We drafted a guy that wants to be here and play in NY
We drafted a guy regarded as being tough and intense
We drafted a guy with great upside
We drafted a two way player
I trust and am willing to be patient with any move Walsh makes as his history of evaluating talent is among the best in the league.

The rest is wait and see.

I think he means you too, or anyone who decides to get behind walsh, wait, give things a fair chance, before we judge.... It is not about what you said before the draft, but your actions now.. the fact that you are willing to see how things play out before you judge, makes you a sheep....

Fran Fraschilla said this guy had a Jeter/Tiki kind of personality (I'm not sure he knew the specifics behind Tiki). By that what I think he meant is that this guy has a magnetic personality- a star personality and has the knack for playing on a big stage. He's been a pretty good interview so far (check out that thread with his interview with BT). I hope his game holds up- but its clear the Knicks went for greatness rather tha just good on this pick. For everyone who complains about how the Knicks are always win now, won't be patient with young guys, looks for picks too make an immediate impact- well this completely changed that direction. I'm willing to give it a shot.

I said I'd be pissed if we didn't draft him but also said I could live with a pick(s) that addressed immediate needs.

EG does not solve an immediate need.

I said immediate needs and didn't prioritize them but Jamal sucks Azz as a starting 2 guard plus we don't have a Dynamic player on our roster. I mean I thought we had spots 3/4 locked up between Chandler THE MAYOR and David Lee Rock Star Roth. I surely hope you don't think Jamal is our future 2 guard?

You think SG is a bigger priority than PG? Heck, NONE of the Knicks players are starters on a team that would go deep into the playoffs. So I guess you have an out at every position.

EG is not an upgrade to Crawford with building for the future.

We'll have to agree to disagree. Nothing wrong with that. I'm not going to make outlandish statements as to why I'd want and prefer EG like many have done here with Gall-Atari.
