Justin Williams & Diop are intriguing options as well... good job guys.

we definitely need at least 1 guy who can block shots on this team... the fact that they passed on a project player in the draft is immaterial to this discussion... we're talking about acquiring a role player here... the point is there are players we can get at very low cost that can fill this role for us... if we'd traded down a few spots for multiple picks & drafted someone like Jordan i wouldn't have minded that either, but it didn't happen... time to look to the future & see what options we have.

how about a simple trade of Malik's expiring for Etan Thomas? his deal expires after next season so it doesn't hurt Walsh's plan for 2010... that type of deal would probably make D Lee more expendable if u decide to use him in a trade for a PG.

What is Etan's status for next year? He would be a nice pick up if he is able to come back.

We don't need Thomas. We pick him up and and keep Curry we are leading the team in heart problems. I'm serious, we don't need that kind of risk.

I like Diop. I wanted to pick him up the year we signed Jerome James. He's unskilled but he's big and active on defense. He can help you win a couple of games.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

You ever notice, the knicks never invite an 6'11 7'0 athletic c/pf to the summer league to protect the lane.

WHY IS THAT?

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Hey Playa, have you noticed your man Ajinca is "frail" and hasn't been that good in summer league?

Goddamn soft stiff-legged Euros!

Oohah ,I haven't had a chance to watch him yet.

What does he have to do with my question , why the knicks never invite an athletic 6"11 7"0 c/pf to the SL roster ?

It has nothing to do with your question. I was just razzing you because you keep going on about soft Euros and how Galinari is frail, and the guy you like from Europe is frail and soft.

I was jumping on the opportunity! My apologies, please resume your discussion.

If decent shot blockers were available for summer league they would already be signed somewhere in the real league.

Good shot blockers are precious and rare.

Chris Anderson - 1 year veteran's minimum deal easy... unlike the other 3 mentioned this guy seems like a great fit for a quick up & down the court style of play... he's the youngest of the bunch at only 29 but comes w/all kinds of off the court issues as we're all well aware... still, in only 7 mpg last year he was able to average almost a block a game... this guy has absolutely zero offensive skills though whereas Zo & Skinner can knock down the occasional open J.

Anderson is the only guy that makes sense out of that 4 for D'Antoni's system. Mourning is too old and injury prone, Ratliff is too injury prone, Skinner is okay, but I prefer Anderson for what we are trying to do.

Anderson also renders David Lee redundant. He's not as good a rebounder, but he finishes as well, shoots a little better and he plays some D. Since we all think Lee is on the move, I think it is a low-risk high reward deal that we should think about as the summer shapes up.

oohah

Auuuhhhhh, this is going to be an offense team. No D required. Let's get rid of Chandler instead.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Chris anderson is the only option? Anybody catch him last year? How'd he look?

We were told by isiah-diot that jeffries was supposed to be our shot blocker. Anderson is a clone.

a trade for Camby perhaps? D Lee & Malik's expiring probably won't get it done tho.

Trade Chandler for Camby-Man. That will get it done.
I'll never trust this' team again.

How many shotblockers have the knicks faced in the summer league ? Even the wolves had guys goping after it. How about Charlotte's SL team , cmon man.

We never have guys who play overseas invited to our SL rosters who can alter shots

I hope the walsh guy suprises us all after he and Dantoni sit down and discuss what that have as a team.

Nobody at 6"11 on the roster now is gonna alter or block shots on a consistent basis.

Interesting. I bring up trading Chandler, who is now our most valuable trading piece and there's no comments. When Lee was our most valuable trading piece, everybody wanted to ship him right out. Hmm, interesting. Interesting indeed. Tisk-tisk.

Chandler has more tools, possibly more potential, and may fit better in this offense than Lee can. Chandler is a fairly decent shot blocker, decent rebounder, and is showing he is developing a jumper. At this point he reminds me that he has the same multi-faceted game like a (and I am NOT saying he is these guys, just he has the same versatility as) Artest, Marion(who I really closely compare his game style to), maybe a little Kenyon Martin. While Chandler-who a lot of guys see as a tweener- is a little undersized for the 4 he can certainly play the 3.

As for who to trade, Chandler-imo-is a 3. We have Danillo, Randolph and Lee at the 4. We have no true quality 3's.

I thought the calls for trading Lee were due to his value being perhaps the highest at that time. I don't believe any bias was part of the reasoning.

I also think that Waltoni will try their best to get a shotblocking athletic big in here, but lets be honest it's not easy to find guys who can stay on the floor offensively. Most of the time those guys are one dimensional and mess up the offense due to being non threats.
