Lafrentz is a good pick up.Lafrentz is a young 7foot shot blocker we need.In the east he will do well.He can also play the the PF if n thats if Dice has to retire due to another injury and which would allow Lampe play in the starting lineup. Two 7footer n a 6'10" s/f huh cant wait.We getting taller n younger.Something we been wanting to do.DO YAH THING LAYDEN.Lafrentz do have a high contract but who are we tryin to get by cutting out salaries, iffff we are tryin to head that route.(Neva)Y?No all-star superstar is headin here regardless. Most of them have a high chance stayin put.Lebron stayin home,Kobe either stayin LA or heading home to Philly meaning the end of A.I,probably go to LA or Spurs,K.G has a winning team now so he stayin.Another thing KVH let him be,give him a chance to change due to all the critics out there he's gotta prove something. As long he could contribute to help us win is all we want.We already have our all-star,go to guy in Houston.IMO the addition of these players will help themself and this team to play better than b4.

Hey NYK8, while ya boy Scott LayDown "does his thing", he gets back page headlines like this:

It's the first of many that will compliment him just as much. LOL

Hmmm...

If we trade Thomas for LaFrentz, we'll probably have to throw in some of our junk to get him... maybe we could throw in Travis Knight and Harrington while we're at it.

Even if the Knicks kept Sprewell, we'd be waiting for another couple of years before we'd be under the cap--- and that's w/o signing any free agents, or re-signing any of our own players.

I think the Knicks' only hope is 1) making some trades to bring in players that can contribute 2) build through the draft and hope we're lucky (in other words, work on improving our scouting!) 3) build with the MLE, and hope those players are worth it!
4) After developing young players, hype them up and trade 'em!

Trading for Reaf would be a disaster. He doesn't play down low and has a huge contract.

Even though I would rather have Ratliff than LaFrentz, it'll work with KT and Othella (RealGM #1157099).

LaFrentz signed a near max 7-year deal just last year, no thanks. Mavs overpaid him, let them keep him.
He makes about half of what Allan makes but he's signed for 6 years.

I don't think getting LaFrentz for Thomas would be so bad. Once again we get bigger, younger, and get a shot-blocking natural center. LaFrentz can score in the post and out and plays more above the rim than Thomas. Keon Clark or Theo Ratliff would also work. LaFrentz would be one of the better centers in the east and could have a year similar to Brad Miller, plus some shot-blocking. When you think of the team we have put together when McDyess is healthy, things really don't look so bad.
C LaFrentz 12pts, 7rebs, 2blks
PF McDyess 20pts, 10rebs
SF Van Horn 15pts, 7rebs
SG Houston 21pts, 3rebs, 3asts
PG Williams/Eisley 9pts, 5asts
6th Sweetney
7th Eisley/Williams
8th Anderson
9th Harrington
10th Weatherspoon
11th Lampe
12th Doleac
Sorry man. LaFrentz doens't have half the skill B. Miller has.

I don't understand how all of you would turn down getting bigger and younger. What advantage is it to keep around Sprewell, who is a 33-year old, 6'5 small forward when you can have someone who is 6'10 and only 27-years old. We need to have some solid players around who are still in their prime when our young guys develop. Sprewell is no longer in his prime and will be done when some of the other guys develop. We will never be able to put a solid team together if we have 35-36 year olds starting next to a couple of young guys.

As for KT for LaFrentz, we're talking about getting a 27-year old, top five center in the east for a power forward in his prime. He's also a shot-blocker. How can you be unhappy with that? I know the length of the contract is an issue, but what are you going to do with an expiring contract anyways? By the time the contract is up the player will want a huge deal or will walk. So we either pay a lot of money or lose a starter. If we lose him you know we can't replace him because we are so far over the cap. If in 3-4 years we were to get under the cap we would just be signing a player to a huge deal that everyone would be unhappy with. Once again, back to square one. Right now we are getting bigger and younger, and with this team we have time to develop talent and wait for the right deal to come along that adds that 5th or 6th essential player to the line-up that allows us to make a run. We are currently being put in a situation to compete now and develop players around what we have now. I don't know exactly what everyone's goal here is. Let our Knicks retire and leave the team with less talent, or continue to upgrade and at least attempt to remain competitive until we somehow strike gold. I would rather take a chance with this option.

3 knee surgeries and this guy is supposed to come back and average 20 points and 10 rebounds

unreal

mcdyess said he looked forward to the chance of coming to mdison square garden and playing with sprewell. mcdyess and sprewell prolly sitting at home laughing at scott layden

i hope mcdyess comes back and signs with the timberwolves as a free agent

karma

haha... that would be something prod... Minny will be fun to watch tho..

honestly look at ur quote...the dyess dynasty starts now...if that isnt a clue ur a bit off i dont know what is...as for lafrentz and van horn ...kvh is a soft joke and lafrentz is a top 5 center in the east...well guess what kurt thomas went to the nba all star game as a center last year which shows you how legitimate being a top 5 center in the east would really mean ...the dyess dynasty starts now...you have gotta be kidding me...

u heard it here first....

Doleac, Knight, Pope, Lampe, Vranes, Van Horn, Vujanic...

With Bradley and LaFrentz on the horizon. Yeah it seems that way.

The pattern is obvious. He'll be fired before he does that though.

Won't he?

If that's what he's really trying to do, he's crazier than all of us could fathom.

I dont know whats wrong wit these fans.I think Spree got them strung cuz they suckin on him a little to much.Spree hasn't done ish for the Knicks. The only thing i saw was heart n attitude.Which alot of u guys think it resembles urself like a true New Yorker and thats fine.Thats y he was a fan favorite here. But u guys actin like he brought NY choks i mean chips. He did have a couple of games here n there. But not like MJ use to do.Then expect a pot of gold in exchange for him.lol'please.KVH career 17pts.7rebs. 6'10s/f 27.KVH has more to gain, i'll take that.On the other hand Spree 36 lost a step.Spree had this team stuck in mud.We was headin nowhere wit him.So u gets the boot just like every other player.Thats business.KVH could get the boot too but not until he gets a fair shot.Knicks need this fresh new look start.

OK bruh, I'll break it down slow so you don't miss anything this time:

I was talking about LayDown. There ain't nobody suckin' a goddamn thing over this way. You made it too esay to dismiss that jawjackin' about "Spree not doin' ish for the Knicks" by subsequently comparing him to MJ(?!?). You put the gun to your own head and pulled the trigger on your own argument with that one. LMAO

Whatever you wanna say about Van Horn is a dead issue. The back page I showed ya already sums up what the general and sensible concensus on that trade is.

Maybe an all "CHARACTHER TEAM" that happens to have white players on it. What about Houston, Eisley, F.williams, K.thomas, C.Ward, S.Anderson C. Weatherspoon. If you notice you haven't heard a peep out of any of these players with off the court troubles, except KT who they are trying to trade for another Character guy -Ratliff Lafrentz etc... T.Nesby should be on the team too. I see the teams that the knicks fielded to win the CHAMPIONSHIPS were all characther guys too. Frazier, Reed, Debusshere, Monroe, P.Jackson, Bill Bradley .

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Playa actually has a point there...Clyde's squad was squeaky, even when he was in pimp-mode.
