actually, the guys i really wanted were Mayo or Westbrooke... but any choice Walsh made was gonna be fine w/me & i said all along if Gallinari was the pick i'd be happy with it... i didn't really want Kevin Love or Brooke Lopez tho, so if those guys end up to be studs i'll be happy to eat crow.

This draft, the wasting of the 6th pick and the inability to get later picks, has set the franchise back a minimum of 2 more years.

Whos your pick? Or would you have traded Z-Bo to the nets for the 10th and the 21st, Lee to the grizz for the 5th, Marbury to the Blazers for all six of their picks, and then packaged those picks in a three teams blockbuster that would have given us D Rose and Beasley?

Done. Put me down for Rose and Beasely.

My #1 pick was Bayless.
My #2 Pick was Galinari.

Since Bayless fell dramatically perhaps he wasn't as good as I thought.

***

You know who I would have picked over anybody in this whole draft including Beasley and Mayo?

Hasheem Thabeet. He has the potential to be a true Dikembe Mutombo on defense, and better than Mutombo on offense. Thabeet may never pan out, but his potential is ridiculous.

oohah

I'm in the same boat about Bayless then Gallinari. I also liked Thabeet, but not as much as you. I think he made the right move by going back to school. We'll see how he does this next season.

Agreed with everything except Thabeet. That's a ridiculous statement.

What is ridiculous about it? You don't think he has enormous defensive potential? Have you not seen him grow on offense, so that he is better offensively than Mutombo at the same stage? Have you witnessed his height, size and athleticism?

Please tell me which part is ridiculous and why. Let me add to that that the kid was smart enough to go back to school and work on his game.

Thabeet will be top 3 next year and whoever passes on him will regret it.

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

If he wont put it on the line, he doesnt deserve to bash this pick. In two years hes going to be like "we could have had CDR at 6!". Give me a break, he hates the pick at 6, but he doesnt like any other player at 6 either. He just wants to talk about trading down for multiple picks as if that was a possibility that we turned down. Nothing that could have been done at 6 would have made him happy.

Come on, I'm obviously the guy who comes to the hot craps table and starts betting "Don't Pass".

No, I'm going to be like "We could have had Darrell Arthur with San Antonio's 26th pick and CDR with Minnesota's 34th pick for nothing but cash".

I really don't want to have the whole Thabeet argument again. I was glad that died when he pulled out of the draft.

I don't think Thabeet is Mutombo at all. More like Mamadou N'Diaye than anything else. And I sure as hell would not take this guy over Rose and Beasley. I would take a flier on him in the late part of the 1st round but #1 overall or even a lottery pick? No.

Let's just wait till the next draft to have this discussion again.

doesn't matter if we pick labron people would have been wondering why we didn't pick wade or melo or bosh. You really don't know who will really pan out. Months ago every one was saying we need to start looking over seas, not to mention how much more fundemental these players are..
