how does he have so many steals?

can someone who is good at computer stuff edit Danilo's head onto the clip of Bird stealing the inbounds pass from Isiah? that would really make my morning.

look, at least the kid seems like he has heart and i'll give him a chance, but i honestly cannot see him starting on an NBA team with a winning record anytime soon. if they were going to go with a project pick, i would have much prefered anthony randolph. he's not much different than gallinari on offense and he's a much better rebounder and he's a shotblocker.

I don't know. Randolph scared me a little. Just too skinny for my taste and from what I understand he cannot shoot from the outside. A big no no for D'Antoni's system.

Yeah, no way he's "not the much different that Gallinari on offense"...Randolph is an offensive liability.

In any event, we're quibbling over pennies. Meaningless convo. Our move involved a trade with Memphis and Minny, for a true draft stud.

I just don't see it. Unless this guy can guard his position at SF, he just is not going to great. He is not quick enough to blow by other SF and he shot is solid but not on a Dirk level. Maybe he really develops, but this is a huge risk. I would have rather taken D.J. or Bayless.

The other drawback is this pick means that Marbury may be around past next year.

IF Larry Bird can guard SFs like Bernard King, Dominique Wilkins and the like then I think Gallinari should be able to guard todays SFs. You don't need to be an off the charts physically to defend, you just need to be a smart defender and from the scouting report that is what Gallinari is suppose to be.

come to think of it... Larry Bird went sixth overall! wow! the parallels are eerie.

I am a big Bird fan...I know...How can I be a Bird fan when I am a Knick fan? I just love his limited skill set but was able to dominate with what he has.

I see a lot of Bird in Gallinari, at least from the highlight films I have seen. Yes, I understand they are highlight films but the fact that he is the leader of his italian team when they have american imports is impressive at 19. I like the sure handle the shooting range. I like how he uses both hands when finishing, very Bird like.

Bird did not have a limited skill set. He had limited athleticism and an out of this world skill set.
I just hope that people will like me

Those who are bashing the pick because Gallinari is a project should do their homework.

ROFLMAO! all the bashers just got pwned by Chad Ford the Yenta.
