knicks made a committment to do this under the cap thing in 2010. if that's the case, then this is going to look ugly for 2 years while they wait out contracts.

being in ny, walsh being 68 and hiring d'antoni are 3 reasons why this 2010 plan is a bad one.

knicks could get alot better alot quicker by spending more money, making more expiring year deals, and trying to starphuch. just got to pick the right players.

otherwise, sit back and expect a bad team for a few more years while they cut cap.

I'm pretty sure I'm willing to see them suck while having a plan than continue to add on salary for loser players who lead us nowhere.

starphucking is a plan - look at boston. as with all plans, you just have to execute it in a smart manner.

God atleast I enjoyed it when we scked back in the 80s--this has been a nightmare. Having to cheer your team to lose so they can change course only to be put back in the same position 4 years later. Its Dolan--what a pure POC. I hope the NHL gets him.

when you have a chance to get a KG type player it makes perfect sense... until that happens it doesn't make sense to continue to add on 2nd & 3rd tier talent signed to 1st tier type dollars to try & eek out playoff runs every year... that's not gonna win us any championships.

It's pretty sad around here isn't it..listening to Walsh and D'Antoni today...I really don't get the feeling they will be able to get the job done...I hope I'm wrong...D'Antoni already hedging the pick saying that this kid was being targeted by the organization the last few years but he really fits his system...

The big joke in this is that the new faces are presenting us with the same old spin...the only thing is that it will get old a lot faster than in the past...

I like Gallinari. I think hes going to be a solid player. Everybody here is bashing Gallinari, but who was better? Gordon? LOL. Bayless? Maybe, but hes a SG and we have two players who will probably succeed next year in Nate and Jamal. I like this pick, and I think hes going to do great.

Interesting I am listening to the Fan and Isola said he thinks Isiah still has the ear of Dolan and Walsh this is the main reason he believes that Marbury will not be on the team next year because Thomas wants him gone.

Like I've been saying. Walsh is nothing but a puppet. A puppet who has never won a damn thing. He sucked for the first 9 years in Indy, got lucky with Miller and still was nothing but mediocre until he hired Larry Brown. Larry Brown put the pieces of that team together and then Bird added a few pieces around Brown's core.

Now Walsh got his golden parachute and is done working for it. He keeps the crap staff that helped get us into this situation and adds D'Antonio type players because it's the easy way out. Working the phones, finding trades like the Memphis deal and buying picks like other teams did was too much work or a bother to the old man.

He talks a good game about not being able to afford to blow this draft and getting under the cap but wastes several great opportunities to accumulate assets which can help in trading away these bad contracts. Now he has one tradeable asset, that his organization badmouths all night long, and he's limited in what trades he can make.

The Knicks should hired a hungry young GM who's willing to bust his ass to unearth deals, not a tired old has been looking to make one final score. There were plenty of opportunities to buy picks and move up to get one of 3 players closest to being sure things in this draft. Walsh failed miserably and tried to placate Knicks fans by telling them that this was the player that his worthless predecessor was targeting for a few years now. Senility must really be getting to the old fool. Why would Knicks fans take any comfort in knowing that this is the player that the most inept front office in franchise history was targeting? I don't understand why some people have such blind faith when it comes to Walsh.

There's a shocker. Where have I heard that before?

When LeBron is signing with the Nets in 2 years, Isiah will be starting to work his way back into the picture as Walsh's successor.

Kudos to you. I guess it does come off better for Fans if Walsh says that he is making the decision rather than Isiah. Knicks are a strange organization.

There is a reason the Knicks did not hire or interview Jerry West for the Presidents job. He would not have kept Isiah. He would not have hired the big name coach to make a splash. I do not think D'Antoni's tenure here lasts more than one season. He is either the next Larry Brown or he is the next Don Nelson. Already Thomas has punked him. If you believe what has been reported, D'Antoni wanted a point guard. Bayless, Augustine and Gordon were all available. This was a Thomas pick. It is even harder to take when you watch Thorn and Kiki do everything right.

no way this is a thomas pick. What Euro has thomas ever drafted?

If they say he was targetted for a year, I suspect it means that they thought he was one of the BPA with the most upside, and that they had been following him for a year- that is a good thing. It means they should be comfortable with him.

I'm patient.

I'll wait and see how Galli does- he has until the end of summer camp to prove he belongs!
