And necrom - absolutely right about the Rodman comparison. On and off the court activities are two totally different issues...

...Well, In the minds of Dolan/Layden, who knows?

If you look at this trade objectively (see the nytimes article), it seems like this was a rational business decision. I think it was, anyway.

If you look at this trade fanatically (Lupica) or from a Knick-hater (look for a mitch lawrence article), yeah, you'll feel like the media hates KVH. I'll try to listen to the FAN tonight a little... maybe they'll make me think otherwise.

I think it's a decent deal--- and that we couldn't do much better.

Now imagine if the Knicks had gone STRAIGHT to MN and made some trade that would have gotten us Brandon for Sprewell. Wouldn't we be pissed that we got that precious CAP relief right away and no players! (and yeah, we'd still be waaay over the cap)

Nothing makes Knick fans happy (other than a projected lottery pick dropping to us in the 2nd round).

Slightly off-topic (this of course isn't a Nets thread):
I'm curious what people will have to say about K-Mart... after his incredibly poor performances in the playoffs (like going 3-23 in the last game). Hypocrite. This, of course, is a guy who also is looking for a max deal. K-mart had "flu-like" symptoms during the last 2 or 3 games, and he wasn't using it as an excuse.

Some of these guys need to accept that if they get sick, it'll hinder their performance. Heart doesn't matter if you can put someone better capable of performing on the floor.

Also, what do people have to say about KVH's replacements RJ, who was incredibly erratic during this year's entire playoff run, and Rodney Rogers, who aside from bricking 2 critical freethrows then proceeding to hit a winning jumper... was absolutely useless. And of course, there's Mutombo, who contributed very little over the course of the whole season because he's a slow big man who can't catch passes.

Hello, Prod.

I enjoy discussing the Knicks, but if you address me personally, please do it respectfully. I'm not a child, nor will I tolerate being addressed like one. It's okay to disagree. Please take a note from Hardcore as to how to do it with mutual respect.
what did i say?
all those years as a fan and now i'm the anti-knick. life is crazy aint it.

"knixphan stop posting."

As if you didn't find my opinion worthy of the board. I assumed that anyway. Did I make a wrong assumption? If so, pardon my retort. I know you get very...PASSIONATE about this squad.

AH-

Ok - I got it, my bad. The past few seasons have been rough on all of us, bro. I feel the pain.

One thing is for sure. KVH has got to know that he's under a very big microscope. From the first tipoff of the preseason. If the reactions here are an indicator of the general consensus, then Keith has his work cut out for him.

Then again, I was one of the people who didn't like the Camby trade. I eventually changed my tune, I admit.

yeah camby wasn't taken too well either i admit

but man sprewell was my dawg

nothing against kvh. it's just layden. i was hoping that sprewell was going to be here for 2 more years

but then again like a 12 year old said somewhere i read. the knicks didn't want him anyway

knixphan what's crazy tho is that scott layden actually thinks he is doing something. it's so funny

Personally, as a I Spree fan, I'm happy for the guy. Yesterday his running mate was Allan Housless, today it's Kevin Garnett. Nobody tell me his bags weren't packed since Monday!

I just think that KVH, in 2 years, will be mentioned in the same sentence as Housless' contract among the biggest mistakes LayDUMB has done.

Unless, like I said yesterday, he's made the THIRD option behind Housless and a fully healthy Dice. I know, I know. Can't blame me for hoping, tho!

But I really think Scott is Dolan's lapdog anyway. And Houston's contract (not Allan's fault for signing...well, maybe a little)has made this mess even messier.

Unless a Houston trade can happen...(Yes, I'd support Hardcore's Houston/Doleac for Wallace trade) I think we gotta just see what the kid can do before february...

And if Keith stinks it up, then get the picket signs out. I'll join you.

knix phan on your devils advocate point Dennis Rodman was getting over 20 rebounds in San antonio so many games it wasn't funny. production was hardly a problem in SA for Dennis.

he left the spurs then and went to a more talented team and played even better, as opposed to keith going to a worse team and you think he will play better.

I've never blamed Housless for signing that contract. If my boss wants to give me a lot more money than I'm actually worth, there is no way in hell I'm gonna say "Nah, man. I only deserve THIS much!"

That's the catch - 22.

Who would refuse the money? Anyone here?

But then Allan's GOT to know that his contract is part of the problem - not the whole problem, but part.

I bet he secretly likes the fact that Spree's no longer an issue, though. But he's also thinking:

'so this means I get to guard Kobe?'

knix phan some of the post ini here go over the top with name calling and in your face post, i am responsible for a lot of that. alot of us know each other for years, and it's not personal some of it .
what i'm trying to say is don't get so sensitive i dont think syaing Stop posting was overboard, or something to get worried about, there is alot of passion on these topics, and for us to post like we are eating biscuits and drinking tea and eating crackers aint likely. I don't think we should take it too far but we aint the mormons the knicks are.

It's all good, Iceman, now that I know the spirit of the comments, I can understand better. Just like a new guy in a pickup game: You have to know that the trash-talking is good-spirited, not dysfunctional. I don't want a tea party, but I don't want to be attacked for having an opinion either. I can fly into the city and do that at '31' across the street from the garden.

Now that I've cleared it up, it's fine. I figured that the young bucks get fiesty. I went to my first game at the garden when Dr. J was playing, so I've seen ups and downs - there's some patience that comes with that, but I totally support the fire I see on these boards.

As a matter of fact, I'll notify you cats when I come into town for a game and prove my good-naturedness by picking up a round of drinks on a gamenight. I'd rather do that than listen to the drone of Lakerhood out here.

Orange and Blue is bigger than our differences.

Peace to all.

between layden, dolan and bloom berg i feel like NYC is a suburb of Idaho.

Lupica is joke and anyone who watched him knows this.
Tune in to the "Sports Reporters" on ESPN to see what I'm talking about.
All that guy is about, is living vicariously though the lives of Athletes. If an athlete lets him do that then he loves the, if not he hates. Form your own opinions don't use Lupica or any other sports writer as a crutch.

Yo nwny, u really not feelin' Lupica like that? I dunno about his ESPN Show but his articles in the NY Daily News are usually on point, like the one he wrote today about the trade.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!
