Doing nothing is awesome.

Who needs to buy picks for nothing but money.

Who needs to trade for large contracts that expire in 2010.

Who needs to trade for good PG's and draft picks.

NBA Inaction...Is Fantastic!!

i don't think Walsh is sitting on his hands doing nothing... sounds like he's exploring a ton of different options to me

Asked if anything were close, including a Memphis trade, Walsh said, "You have to ask the other guy. It takes two to tango. We have no deals right now. We have so many discussions. I don't want to get into specific ones."

Well that's nice to know that he's having discussions in between naps.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

I think Indiana did great in this trade. Ford, Nesterovic, and the 17th pick is huge for O'Neal. Bird needed to get rid of O'Neal and still got alot for him. There will be alot of good players available to Indiana at 17.

this is a very even deal for both teams. indy now has to get rid of tinsley tho.

indy now has 11 + 17 to go with tj + granger + dunleavy. looks like they might be going big with those picks.

I wonder if Indy is going to try and run a bit? TJ, Granger and Dunleavy are all full-court offensive players.

it can go either way, a move might be made or we might just see Walsh do nothing & take BPA at #6... sounds like the Knicks are cooling on Bayless
Walsh met the press after a scouting meeting during which different trade scenarios were discussed. He has never made a draft-night deal with a first-round pick in 22 drafts, but coach Mike D'Antoni has wheeled his first-rounder the last four drafts.

Walsh appears worried one of the PGs he likes won't be there at No. 6. Sources indicate the Knicks no longer are interested in Arizona combo guard Jerryd Bayless. But they still pine for UCLA PG Russell Westbrook, an athletic, explosive penetrator who's a solid defender, and Indians sharpshooting combo guard Eric Gordon.

without a doubt, that's why they hired o'brien last year. this also gives indy a ton of cap space next year.

If thats the case, Indiana should make a push for Barbosa, he fits well in that offense and Phoenix is interested in trading him. I feel like Kerr values draft picks so what about a Marquese Daniels + 11 for Barbosa?

too small to go with tj. barbosa would still have to come off the bench. they need some bigs that can motor. foster is good but murphy may not fit.

IMO Indy just needs to draft Brandon Rush at #11 & a shotblocking rebounding big like Jordan or Lopez at #17 & go w/what they got for next year... then try & unload T Murph's contract before next season & make a play for a bigname FA in 2009

C - Foster / Jordan or Lopez / Harrison
PF - T Murph / Diogu
SF - Granger / Williams / Daniels
SG - Dunleavy / Rush
PG - Ford / Tinsley / Diener

The best thing about this trade is it takes Jermaine out of play for the Cavs. The Cavs were interested in him. Now this makes Zach to Cleveland a stronger possibility because Cleveland's options just got a lot worse.

Just saw this--wow if Toronto can stay healthy--it will be rough matching up down low with them.

Colangelo saw what happened in the finals--meaning the roughhouse basketball and changed his style in one trade.

You better have some dogs down low or you will be winning 25-30 finesse was in and now its out.

yeah, he basically changed the identity of the team with this deal. hopefully hump + bargs can play well enough to allow o'neal to average 25-30 mins a game during the season.

DJ---Colangelo is smart. He watched the NBA finals---if you dont have some monsters on the backline---don't think about winning championships anytime soon. The league kind of went through a bit of a change with the the success of foreign teams in the Olympics and the Suns. But that is not the reality of winning in the NBA--it never has been--not even for 1 year and doesnt look like it anytime soon. The interior will always be the most important part of the basketball court.

zach to the cavs? knicks are this close to trading malik + jerome for kmart.

kmart + zbo + curry is the frontcourt for the new millenium....

i still think zach to the cavs is the only option we have for him. we'll see how desperate they are.
