Larry Bird, Isiah Thomas, Kevin McHale, Michael Jordan. Who's next? Oscar Robertson?

That's why I was wondering why some posters were wanting us to make Ewing the head coach.

Bird is also putting down players he is trying to trade. He is also infuriating his own players, which creates a not very stable environment. Isiah also helped create a very unstable environment. Bird is pulling an Isiah as a result.

really, how did he put them down? He didn't call them scrubs, you act as if this is some big secret here, it is well known that tinsley is a slug and williams is not far behind. This is not some inhouse incident where you try to mitigate the damage... The damage is done, the word is out... Bird is disgusted and he is trying to trade these two morons, even if he has to do so, for pennies on the damn dollar......

tfk, sure most of us know, but if you're desperate to trade somebody, you don't call them scrubs. You put your players up in public and say what great pros they are, if you have nothing else to say. Then you'll get feelers at least. By putting them down in public, you're only worsening the situation.

Exactly I mean what good does it do the Pacers? None!

Of course whoever would trade for these bums know about their history but when you call them out publicly it might cause them to second guess a trade or not offer maybe what they would have. They may still trade for them but you've done nothing to help matters and make it easier for teams to present offers. He definitely didn't help acquire new interests.

The thing is that the season ticket holders of the teams he might trade them to read the papers too and it wouldn't be good for business to make a deal for either of these guys with such bad press out there on them. So it's a hard sell for a GM to the fanbase.

you guys are overreacting. He said they are on very thin ice.. now if that will effect any potential trades, then those guys had no trade value from the start....... So IMO. Not much if any harm done..
