I don't hate Brook Lopez, I just don't want him. I don't think any comparisons to Frye are fair, I think he is a better player than Frye was, better rebounder, better defensive player, better all around, Frye did have a better shot though. I believe in the end Lopez is going to have a hard time shaking that vaunted "Pac10 bigman" label (unlike Kevin Love) but he's not going to be a bad player, although if he's picked 3 I have a hard time believing he'll live up to that draft position.

This post really had nothing to do with getting Brook Lopez[although I would prefer him to the combo guards] it was more about that it seems like Seattle is taking him.

And not to mention, I don't see how my post didn't pertain to the thread. You mentioned he hasn't worked out for anyone past the Wolves or Sonics so that means he's probably going to be a top4 pick which would make my comment about him not living up to that pick quite relevant, as well as my comments about his game since you did compare him to Tim Duncan. Cmon Briggs... you really gonna do me like that?

Briggs let me get something straight the two guys you have touted huge in the draft are McGee and Randolph. You have said both guys in the right system will be great players. McGee has been awful in tryouts and Randolph has been dropping. Now you're saying Lopez reminds you of Tim Duncan. Lopez shot 46% from the field this year and has no athelticism and not a great motor. Over the last two days you have backed off Randolph as the 6th pick said Bayless should be the one, wouldnt mind having Lopez. I have been dumb enough to say EG as our pick Courtney Lee as a sleeper and Arthur and Rush will be better than Randolph who will be a monumental bust. Who should the Knicks draft, and do you think Randolph and Mcgee will be great still?

I would take Randolph if I was picking--thats me. I havent changed on that. I said Lopez reminded me of a version fo Tim Duncan like 3 months ago. And who said Mcgee has been bad--i have read hes been good??

if mayo drops, do you take him or randolph w/ the pick?

The T-wolves have to pick Brook so they can move Al jefferson back over to his natural position.

Seattle aint pickin Mayo...... Besides Durant wants to be the 2 guard. These guys could take Love too. Seattle needs the post presence. They already have watson and ridinour but they also have 2 shot blocking prospects. Not to mention wilcox and collison. So these guys to me can really screw **** up. We all expect Bayless is their pick.

Memphis needs a center. They already have warrick who was looking really good last year. Check his game log. If Mayo fell, how can Memphis pass on him? They would have Gay, Mayo and Conley along with warrick....that's crazy.

Don't forget Miami might be thinking the same way and just go ahead and draft Mayo so they don't have to beg for him via trade. Wade is working out with the dude for christsakes.

if minny goes for a big man...then there's a really good chance mayo drops to ny...

but again, if lopez got a promise, knicks are looking at one of the following: westbrook, bayless, love, mayo...

minny should take mayo so they can have a lethal inside/outside attack with mayo and jefferson. but if they have their eyes set on lopez or love, they should call the knicks and see if they can get lee + 6 from them.

Briggs, not to be an ass or anything, but if I had a nickel for every time you did the same thing, I'd be a rich man...

I dont know what you are reading but the post had to do with what would be available at 6 since Brook Lopez looks like he will go to Seattle--I dont care how you feel about him--that is your opinion.

Oh I get it. You can state your feelings on him by comparing him to Tim Duncan

they certainly need a C and he does remind of Tim Duncan somewhat

but no one else can say anything. I see.

Actually I was not answering you directly when I posted--I thought it was kind of funny how it went off course. Like I said you have your opinion on players and so does everyone else--this had nothing to do with you--it was random that I answered back on your post because it was the last one. I was making a general statement.

Fair enough Briggs. Just thought you responding to me since you quoted me. I didn't mean to take anything of course.

I was just thinking of that same trade to get the 3. I would do it. They would have to throw in a player to make it work though. Think we can get Craig Smith or Gomes and the 3 for Lee and the 6?

Going back to this--this is very interesting for the Knicks. Im convinced that Lopez=4 Seattle

I really have to imagine that we are looking at

1 rose
2 beasley
3 mayo
4 lopez
5 love
6 either gordon westbrook or Bayless[Ill take it a step further that I dont think it is westbrook]

I have to guess bayless because gordon is no PG

As much as I would love to end up with Bayless, you cant count out Galinari. I think there is a strong chance we take him aswell.

i would be happy with bayless. still prefer westbrook over anyone else.

and it's interesting to see lopez in the fold for mainly the t'wolves and sonics - but that doesn't mean either team won't trade down for him. and memphis is still a complete wildcard at 5. if they trade the pick to another team there's no telling who gets picked. if LA clippers really want westbrook, what's to stop them from swapping with the Grizzlies and taking him at 5. grizzlies still can get love at 7.

briggs, i know what you're saying about wanting to go big, but walsh has said "you can't miss with this pick" in regards to it being a major chip in rebuilding. that leads me to believe he'll pick a guard, because guards taken in the top 7 have a much better percentage of panning out than big men over the last ten years in the lotto.

give me westbrook and i'll be ecstatic. bayless and i'll be happy.

I wouldn't mind Westbrook, but I'm not so sure his ceiling isn't Antonio Daniels. Both were similar sizes coming out of college and both were tremendoous athletes with limited experience at point. Hope Westbrook has a higher ceiling especially if we land him.

westbrook led the nation in assists while darren collison was injured and westbrook was stating at pg for ucla. he reminds me more of wade than daniels.

He led the Pac-ten in assists, I doubt it was the whole nation. I think his average was around 6 per for about 6 games. Wade is a dream comparison. I saw Wade in college and he was a flat out better player than Westbrook.

crz I dont think the Knicks are taking Westbrook--my clues are in who people worked out for. Gordon has only worked out for Seattle NY and LA as has Bayless. Westbrook has worked out as far back as 13--in fact I think it is plausible westbrook could be behind augustin as well if Im reading the tea leaves correctly. If I had to lay down money I would say bayless but it will be tight with gordon

it's either going to be bayless or gordon Im 99% sure unless there is a trade which I highly doubt.

Yeah, I agree that those are probably going to be the top 5 and the Knicks will choose between those 3 players.

Bayless will be the obvious choice even though his PG ability is questionable. Gordon isn't a PG and Westbrook isn't a big enough threat offensively. I'd still take Westbrook over Bayless. I'm warming up to Bayless but I'm not sold on him in the least. I like his athleticism and his ability to score but he's a SG in a PG's body. If nothing else though, he has upside and will be tradeable down the line.

If he goes at 3 or 4, that means either Bayless, Love, or Mayo fall to the Knicks. I'd prefer either Bayless or Love. Most people here like Mayo best and I'd certainly have no problems with him. Also, if we get Mayo, we may be able to do a deal with Miami for Beasley.

Lopez doesn't remind me of Tim Duncan, but maybe Kevin McHale will agree with Briggs.

He might not remind you of Duncan but if Gallinari is better than Lopez I will eat my socks--it's wait and see but
